ARCHULETA. He signed the biggest contract for a safety EVER. enough said. I live near St. Louis so I have heard all about him for years. I always liked him (I'm a big fan of the huge hits), but never thought he would bring this kind of money. I'm sure throughout the season we are gonna be singing his praises on a few knockout shots, but more importantly we will be pissed about a few blown coverages. Our run defense will get better, but he won't help our problem of giving up 40+ yard plays. Maybe I'm just sour because Ryan Clark was a true worker and now may not even get a chance to start with the Steelers (are they still trying to sign a safety??)

Hm, I don't think that's his problem to deal with. I think with the athleticism of Taylor, they don't mind him being the coverage safety.

I'm going with archuleta. I thought ryan clark did a fine job back there next to sean taylor. It wasn't worth bringing a new guy in to replace him. You don't fix what's not broken, and that's how i view that. I'm not saying archuleta won't be better, he might be, or he might suck, but i wouldn't have signed him, all the same.

I like our moves this year. Hence, I would say all of above. We have more weapons and depth at WR. AA is an upgrade from Ryan as well as insurance for S.Taylor. Insurance cost $$. Carter is a need for DE. If you can spend $$ to appease the fan and win the ring, Why not? We are buying glory and entertainment. GO SKINS!!!

I chose AA solely on the basis of his contract. A little extra money from that contract may have landed us a better linebacker. I believe Randle El will be the new Brian Mitchell. Lloyd the new Gary Clark. Moss is ... Moss, of course.

I don't mind the archuleta move, just not at the price and when I think we would have been almost the same with just bringing back a much cheaper Ryan Clark. that would have then allowed us to go after a high quality lb or cb.

My vote is for Lloyd because they had to give up 2 picks to get him. The rest came over as FAs

Yeah, that's how I voted, and for the same reason. Overall, I'm pleased with the pickups. I thought that we needed not one, but two new receivers to fill the #2 and #3 spots. David Patten gives us great depth, and virtually assures that you won't see a big dropoff in wideout production should any of the top three go down. Losing the 3rd and 4th rounder though, that stung a little. Archuleta was a close second, but there again, we probably needed him with Sean Taylor's legal trouble.

AA!

Bad back, and demoted in a mediocre to poor Ram Secondary. Probably would not have gotten his starting job back with the Rams, either.

I'm fine with all of them.

I would not have done the Randle El deal. Not because I wouldn't want him, I would. But not at the price they paid.

I agree...I normally dont buy into the "overpaying" hype, but I just didnt see any reason to hand Arch such a fat contract. It just didnt seem like a necessary move. Also, I would have taken Lloyd over Randle-El in a heartbeat...that said, however, Im perfectly happy with both!
