this is great news, i think this shows how corrupt this case was in the first place not to be dismissed. Sean looks in good shape, hey maybe the new prosecutor will drop the case, and he can get up here and work out!
SkinsNDeacs 04-12-2006, 06:18 PM Good Lord, what are they paying prosecutors down there that they have to "moonlight" as DJ's? Needless to say this is great news for ST. I am feeling better and better about my purchase of his jersey this off-season.
jdockser 04-12-2006, 06:20 PM HE HAD A F-ING MYSPACE! THATS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!! and apparently his page, deleated today, had pictures of "scandily clad" young kids...so he is a prosecutor by day, DJ and pedafile by night...sweeet.
JWsleep 04-12-2006, 06:41 PM Wow. If it's not dismissed now, I'll be really surprised...
WTF is this loser doing? Talk about using a case against an athlete to make your career--it's just that we all thought it was a LEGAL career, not a DJ.

You're jumping the gun -- so to speak! This issue about the assistant prosecutor has nothing to do with Taylor or his case. The guy's boss was quoted saying that nothing on the Web site "compromised the integrity of the Sean Taylor case...."
The thought on the other Taylor thread was for ST to cop a plea because he must be guilty. This is like saying that the prosecutor had a screw-up, so Taylor must be innocent. Doesn't work that way.
The bad part about all this is that now things could drag into the summer, into training camp. Everybody, including ST, wants to put this behind them however it turns out.
50-GUT 04-12-2006, 07:11 PM Alot of the verbage is to cover the prosectution's butt. Next step will be to assign a new prosectutor, who will probably review the case for a week before dismissing. The next prosecutor probably doesn't wanna get crucified/embarrased by this superstar legal defense team that was assembled... in the end, I think this was a good move, because now there is probably only a 50/50 shot of actually going to trial.. there is probably a good chance for either dismissal or plea down to jaywalking, etc..
JWsleep 04-12-2006, 07:13 PM The state should drop the case because it can't reasonably make its burden of proof.
The defense has alleged from the beginning that the case is being prosecuted in order to improve the career of Greico, who is the lead prosecutor here (or he was, until his resignation). The website is evidence of that. Also, it serves to undermine the credibility of the DA's office altogether here. In addition, it raises serious questions about other aspects of the case, concerning the nature of the states witnesses, on which the entier case turns. These guys are all either in jail or wanted in connection with on-going investigations, according to Sharpstein. The DA (Greico) claims "not to have known this." However, given the DJ/website fiasco, it seems clear that he willfully ignored this information to continue his slef-promoting prosecution.
NO way a good lawyer can't effectivly exploit this stuff and destroy ANY possibility of avoiding reasonable doubt.
The DA's office will drop charges and blame Greico. Otherwise, a judge will dismiss, IMHO.
(See the extermeskins Q&A with Taylor's lawyer--very informative. It's linked in another thread.)
amorentz 04-12-2006, 07:26 PM Someone preserved this jackass prosecutor's MySpace page. I cant believe that someone in his position would be so absurdly stupid to have a page like this. What a tool!
Some parts NSFW...

wilsowilso 04-12-2006, 07:29 PM I knew that the assistant DA in this case was smokin something, but this is way more than one defendant can ask for. He was moonlighting as prosecutor is more like it. What an absurd turn of events. Case dismissed.
