Royal was a decent TE for us, and although I wasn't happy to see him go I didn't feel any real sadness once we replaced him. I wish him the best but I don't miss him that much.
As for Bowen, yeah he could hit but his coverage was a little suspect. Yeah he had a few good games, but he also gave up too many plays. I would rather have had Ryan Clark -who was a true blue collar kind of guy- making the money that Bowen was getting to stay on the sidelines.

Royal had impressive numbers at LSU but for some reason he didn't translate that production to the next level.
We regret the fact we didn't get more out of Bowen because he came as restricted and cost us a pick. He's mainly remembered here for the hit he put on Trung in practice. I happened to be at Redskin Park that day, everyone was looking for good things from him. The knee injury sort of derailed his career here.

Royal's endzone dance was nuts.

Hahaha, it always made me cringe watching that. The one time I met him he was a really cool guy. Good luck to him in Buffalo, but they totally overpaid.

yeah when i met him after the opener last year against da bears he told us all to call him redzone royal. I told him the nickname fit the character. You have to remember the year before he had 5 TDs in 5 games or something like that. I asked him if he had a dance like he did the year before and he said he had been working on something better. I think he scored a TD in the seahawks game and it was the worst dance i had ever seen. It was some robot shit. The camara didn't even point at him
