Brett Favre Decision

He got a huge free pass by the NFL and media on the pain killer thing. If he was not white he would have gotten killed by the media.

Last time I checked Bill Romanowski didn't get a pass and he was white. You know what else? Ray Lewis got a free pass on the whole murder thing too. No body cars about Randy Moss' off the field activity. It's his on field activity that bothers people (i.e. throwing tantrums and leave the field before the game ends).

Anywho, lets not play the race card. Regardless of color Favre (ala Micheal Jordon) is a media darling and that's all there is to it!

I also agree with that post living in Milwaukee I hear it every day and even packer Die hards are losing respect, everyday on the news it Brett hasn't decided yet, getting so old. I admit he's a great player but I soured on him ever since the I wont help Aaron Rodgers bit, And instead of saying things like "I aint coming back unless they get better" really make me question the love he has left for the game

The Packers are simply not a team that is going to be able to compete for much at all this year.

They're in rebuilding mode and even though they have a ton of cap space, they've barely used it.

They're clearly planning on rebuilding through the draft and they aren't interested in reloading for one last shot with Favre.

The Aron Rodgers thing Chapped me as well. He cannot do anything positive from here. As MK pointed out, he need to retire "a great player" and be remembered in a positive light--------while he still can

Brett Favre doesn't want to play for Green Bay anymore; he wants to play, but for a winning team. The management of Green Bay doesn't want to be accused of trading the greatest player in franchise history, so they put the ball in Brett's court. Brett is probably hoping that if he holds out long enough making a decision that somehow it will be politically viable for the management to trade him.

It would be a win win for everyone if they trade Brett. I hope they find the courage to do it.

That's pretty insightful, Guy. Brette wants to be cut - it's becoming more and more appearant that he really wants the decision to be made for him.

I'm not sure that he would play the role of the of the victim if they cut, but is it possible that he has now become accustomed to tradgedy and sympathy?

What ever the case nay be, the thing that rubbed me the wrong way about Brette was how he handled the whole Javon Walker thing....one year removed, Javon will continue his career after returning from injury without the contract that he demanded, and yet Brette walks off into the sunset with his millions.

My point is, since he voiced his opinion on Javon coming back to the team, which he did, I think Brette should now step up and ask management to renegotiate Javon's contract. Furthermore, he felt Javon's team "needed him to be in camp"...in other words, be a professional and do right by your team. By him dragging all this out he's seems sorta of guilty of pulling a similiar act.

Brett Fav-rey is a schmuck and I can't wait to see his mopey ass go, but I actually agree on his stance with Aaron Rodgers. It's not his job to "help" Aaron Rodgers -- that's what coaches are for. The whole 'players mentoring younger players' is a crock. Players are there to compete for the starting job and win it. Not to groom their eventual replacements.

Right, I mean that's what coaches are supposed to do: coach. It's not like Favre has some kind of deep down secrets that he dared not share with the coaches. The coaches will know most, if not all, of what Favre would teach a youngster.

Farve just retire please!! So we can stop talking about this.
