I thought there was more pressing needs on their teams other than RB I thought wimbley was gonna be automatic after KC didn't pick him but I was wrong.

I am shocked with the patriots pick.

not as shocked as i am with the chiefs picking a DE (which isn't a need) :( jared allen had 11 sacks last year and their #2 is under contract for 5 more years... in a cover 2, i'd figure having at least 1 good cb would be kinda useful since they only have 1 cb with under 9 years xp (And one of last year's starters is gone) and their safeties have been in the league 7 and 10 years. or maybe taking santonio holmes since kennison is ancient and none of their guys are all that good there. all the above is imho.

The starter that is gone is McCleon, who was trash. He was burned for more touchdowns than Harris was for us. under 9 year xp??? what are you talking about they have Surtain and Warfield (who is a solid corner). There are many good safeties who will fall into later rounds an example last year was Chris Harris of the Bears wo took Mike green's spot in the starting line up and finished with 58 tackles and 3 picks. He was a 6th round pick. Not to mention, that KC is the front runner to land Ty Law this offseason. Reynaldo Hill another example had 3 picks for the titans and was a 7th round pick last year at cb, while Pac-Man Jones, their first had none... Craphonso Thorpe is in his 2nd year and comming back off of injuries which could make an impact at wideout. KC is not done by a long shot hommie dont' count them out.

As for the Dend pick, let me respond to that by saying First as a Redskins fan especially ~ you should know that the length of someones contract in the NFL doesn't mean shit. Barber had a five year contract with the Chiefs, where is he? Wynn is like Hicks just average and Hicks will be replaced just like Wynn. 2nd With an adequate pass rusher on both sides, it won't matter as much who is at cb because a rushed qb will give up picks. Hicks may also be moved to the inside, the chiefs needs help making tackles and creating pressure if you know their d-coordinator Gunther Cunningham is all about creating pressure and blitzing

The Chiefs need a lot of D-line help. I think they really need a tackle, but outside of Allen, they have little at end. Carlos Hall is a decent pass rusher, but is on a one year deal.

dude, warfield is a patriot, he's the starter that they lost. and the 9 year thing was an indication that their secondary is really old overall. I didn't write all that information for my health :/

honestly, with warfield and madison still there, do you think i'd list CB as a DIRE need?

McNeill played with Carnell Williams two years ago at Auburn, and happens to be the best available tackle in the draft. Tampa may be a west coast offense, but the line needs a lot of help. The defense needs youth, but with plenty of rounds left, that wasn't an immediate concern.

even with warfield gone (which I didn't notice). I'm banking on them getting law and possibly a decent db fit for a cover 2 in the second or third

Tough choice between whitner (real speed boost at SS), gabe watson (safer pick), and the other CBs (youboty, joseph). The bengals need more speed and depth in a suspect secondary, and this is a good first step. Cromartie is one of the biggest CBs in the league at 6'3" and with his speed, shouldd pose problems for oppossing QBs. He's also a ball hawk and could probably play at S if he's needed there. Keeping him on the field at all times is very important.

I would have liked to trade down a bit, but I do think cromartie is extremely undervalued after missing a year. Though he will require time to get up to speed, the CB situation will allow him to start as the #3 and work his way up while protecting the team with quality depth.

You're listening to Mock Talk on WPSN with Brud and TAF. We're happy to have NY Giants GM Matty K with us right now.

Matty, you guys have recently signed free agent DBs Jason Bell, Will Demps, R.W. McQuarters, and Sam Madison. Now with the 25th pick you went out and got South Carolina's Jonathan Joseph. Have these moves been made in response to the Cowboys getting TO, and the Redskins adding Randle El and Lloyd? Does the fact that you didn't draft an OLB mean you think you guys are close to signing LaVar?

Brud, you want to chime in?
