EXoffender 04-06-2006, 12:12 PM blackmon might not be a first day guy even, he looked bad at his workouts and was only projected as a 3rd rounder before then.If only we could've gotten a higher pick for Ramsey. I won't bicker about any other picks we've traded away.

This guy can be also used as a DE. Keep in mind that Andre Carter can be used the same way. Great guy in the locker room too. These two plus daniels could be very dangerous.
Here is some of his numbers:
Ht. 6'0 Wt. 256
2004: Started all 12 games...led the team with a career-high 10 sacks. Ranks 11th all-time in U of L history with 12 career sacks.
2003: Appeared in all 13 games off the bench ... recorded a career-high 28 tackles and six tackles for loss ... credited with two sacks. 2002: Saw action in seven games as a true freshman ... logged six tackles, including five solo stops, in a reserve role on the defensive line.
But I'm no Bobby Beathard. Wut do you guys think??
Don't you need a sundial to time this guy in the 40? I don't remember the exact time from Indy, but I remember it being pretty slow, like 4.9's or something. He is short, not very thick, and slow. Doesn't sound like much of an upgrade to me. I think they should (and here I am stating the obvious) look LB or CB. The draft is supposed to be very deep at both positions, though Mel Kiper is now predicting 10 DB's to go in Round 1. Though I'm not particularly partial to UMD, wouldn't it be great if D'Qwell Jackson fell to #53? Apart from that we might also hope that Thomas Howard slips to the Skins spot. I guess those guys will be gone, but you never know. Its almost impossible to predict that far down the board, I mean they won't be picking until what, like 7 or 8pm on the first day. A lot will happen before then.
Big C 04-07-2006, 02:47 AM that might be jp losman. looks like a tulane jersey and i think he was #7

Why did it have to be a Tulane game? Couldn't find a pic of him sacking anyone else? That's messed up!! Lol.
TheMalcolmConnection 04-20-2006, 03:49 PM Nice! The Adam Sandler pic!
offiss 04-24-2006, 04:09 PM I think if we do draft a OLB with our second we may be targeting Thomas Howard, I also think Jon Alston out of Stanford is another candidate, Williams likes speed guys on the outside and both these guys can burn, I am not all that impressed with Jackson, Mcintosh, etc.
Hail2theskins 04-24-2006, 04:20 PM okay, his stats might not be the greatest but for any of you that watch college ball, i was at the WVU Lousiville game, (when the mountaineers overcame a 17 point defecit in the third to win in triple over time) i can tell you that although his stats dont show it, he plays a lot bigger and faster than he is, he got some good licks on Pat White and Steve Slaton, some of the fastest guys in college ball, he would be a good addition not right off the bat, but after a year or two could devolop very nicely
diehardskin2982 04-24-2006, 05:52 PM I would love to take him, some people just are great football players. I think he is one of them.
Phinehas 04-27-2006, 04:05 PM I wouldn't mind trying to get Chris Gocong (Cal Poly) with one of our later picks. He played as a DE, but really has the size and athleticism of an outside linebacker. I was watching him at the combines and he seems very intelligent and has quick feet. I think he would give good special teams production right away and could develop into a good OLB, perhaps specialized as a pass rusher initially. His intelligence and athleticism should make him very coachable. In addition, he had great production at Cal Poly, although playing against teams at a lower level.

gocong is a great mid round project guy... I think he'll be gone by the end of the 4th round though (bengals really like him, among others). he's risen his stock enough (through workouts and drills) to get out of our reach :/ still a chance he falls though, but i'd be mildly surprised.
