The Florida Mandatory Minimum is 3 years. Just hope the prosecution doesn't have some wild card up their sleeve.

Taylor & CourtsPaintrain 04-01-2006, 12:10 PM The Florida Mandatory Minimum is 3 years. Just hope the prosecution doesn't have some wild card up their sleeve. Thanks for the correction.. That Guy 04-01-2006, 12:12 PM I think he will serve some time...FL Law in regards to guns is one of the strictest in the country. If he had a firearm, and I don't think that is a question is it? depends, were you there and did you see it yourself? freddyg12 04-01-2006, 12:19 PM so that's a 3 yr. minimum w/no chance of getting that time suspended? It can't be illegal to carry a gun in Fla. as that would violate the 2nd amendment. The question then becomes was the gun registered to ST? & of course his intent in having the gun at the time (doubt he was on his way to a shooting range). jbcjr14 04-01-2006, 12:22 PM I did not see it, and I hope nobody else did. It has been awful quiet lately about this whole ordeal and I am just thinking of the worst. Don't get me wrong, I sure hope he is innocent and not convicted of any crime. GTripp0012 04-01-2006, 12:24 PM It's really a nine year minimum because it's going to be difficult to prove that he "assulted" one person, and not the other two. That said, it should be ever harder to prove he did it at all, espicially since he might not have. That Guy 04-01-2006, 01:02 PM so that's a 3 yr. minimum w/no chance of getting that time suspended? Master4Caster 04-02-2006, 10:31 PM No body here knows enough details about what happened to make any prediction. How can you say he will do time before he's been convicted? If this is still America, then he's innocent until the charges are proven in court, not on the Internet. It looked bad for him in the Virginia DUI case until a real judge looked at the real evidence. The state trooper said he failed the sobriety test and was drunk. The judge looked at the evidence and said that he not only passed the test, but that he clearly was not resisting arrest. In other words, he should never have been charged with anything in the first dam place. What I hope for is a fair trial and that justice is served, whatever the outcome. And whatever the outcome, both the Redskins and Taylor will get through it. Master4Caster 04-02-2006, 10:34 PM you have got to be kidding me.the rich and famous just do not do jail time.the few examples of famous people(martha stewart)were either being made an example of, or really pissed someone off.no way sean taylor does any time Tell that to Jamal Lewis. Pocket$ $traight 04-03-2006, 12:10 AM Tell that to Jamal Lewis. Completely different situation. Master4Caster 04-03-2006, 02:56 AM Completely different situation. Not at all. dmek's claim was that the rich and famous do not do jail time. That would come as news to Jamal Lewis who most certainly did time and for a less serious crime than Taylor is charged with. If Taylor is found guilty, he won't avoid jail time just because he's rich and famous. |
