they've worked on it some. The got kosier (who's nothing special) and fabini (who' actually good) and they're looking at drafting charles spencer among others in the draft as well. letting larry allen go and sign in san fransisco makes the whole thing a 3 steps foward, 2 steps back kind of proposition though.

I guess Jerry was too busy tweaking his own nipples at the thought of "sticking it to the Redskins" by signing TO. This is going to be proof of what happens when egos get in the way.

Bledsoe could have TO, Holt, Harrison and Moss as his receivers but once he sees Philip Daniels coming at him (again), he'll spontaneously self-combust.

I remember reading from a couple of sources, SI.com among them, that Parcells never attends press conferences for Free Agent signees. That's not to say that the "sources" quoted are not correct, it just means you can't make any assumptions on his not showing up at the presser.

Your are absolutely correct. Ever since Parcells took the helm in Dallas he has never ever been present for any free agent signings or press conferences. He has never made any public comment on any free agent signing. So when he does the same thing this season, reporters see it as a negative thing.

In fact every off-season since returning to coaching, Parcells stays at his home in Florida until just before the draft. One thing most folks do not realize is that Parcells has total control of his coaching staff and scouts. He asked long-time scouting director Larry Lacewell to retire and then Parcells brought in his own scouting staff, whom he trusts without question. THe results have been favorable when you look at how well the drafting has gone since Dave Campo got canned.

Before he leaves for Florida after the end of the season, Parcells, his staff and Jones decide which free agents to target for free agency, and his scouting staff gets busy with the draft as well. Then Parcells heads off to Florida leaving Jerry Jones to do the dirty work of signing those targeted FA's.

I find it difficult to believe that ANY owner would pursue a player without speaking with the head coach first.

True. I still don't see them co-existing. AND with all these new rules, I would be expecting TO to get quite a few penalties.

Technically the backup is Tony Romo. But when McNabb got hurt for Phili, they went with McMahon over Detmer, and Detmer was listed as their backup. So if Drew gets hurt, you might see Henson.

Cowboys | Sources say Parcells did not want Owens
Wed, 29 Mar 2006 15:43:13 -0800
Gary Myers, of the New York Daily News, reports Dallas Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) head coach Bill Parcells (http://www.kffl.com/player/6445/nfl) was not in agreement with owner Jerry Jones about signing WR Terrell Owens (http://www.kffl.com/player/1608/nfl), according to sources. Parcells was absent from the annual NFC coaches breakfast Wednesday, March 29, at the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) spring meetings in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

A similar report was on PTI and Jim Rome yesterday. I am not saying Jim Rome is credible, but it was on his show.
