Isn't this Betts last year under contract. I assume that a team, after next season, will offer Betts enough that we will be forced to let him go to greener pastures. I mean I like Rock but could he fill Betts role full time. Haven't heard much about Combs, Carter or Lumsden. Plus how long does Portis have left, 2 to 3 good years, plus his contract will get huge. A nice young stud RB would be nice. DonTrell Moore would be nice and possbily could get him undrafted and Jimmy Cotrell at LB too. NM connection!
Not sure if we need to go the RB route in the draft. Betts, Cartwright, Nemo... we seem pretty set at RB.

I hear that. However, I think the team can only afford to add one offensive skill position this year. There is a bunch of bottom end RB talent, but I see them taking a player like a Skyler Green with return capability before a RB.

I disagree that Portis only has 2 to 3 good years left. He's only 24. He'll turn 25 on September 1st. He's been in the league for 4 season and hasn't really had any major injuries. I think he'll last for another 5 or 6 years. However, that's assuming the Redskins don't start to misuse him and make the fans turn on him so that they can cut him.

rock can be a number two, manny white is a decent RB and broughton might be alright as well. I'm pretty sure betts is gone, but i'm not worried because i think white or rock could go to #2 and we'd still be fine.
bringing JC (at LB) as a camp scrub would be a good idea. he'll be one of the best undrafted LBs this year.

the running back is only as good as the lineman in front of him.

A running back doesn't need seasoning. When we need a new one we can draft one and insert into the starting lineup immediately. No need to waste space on one right now.

Portis-Betts-Rock-Nemo-Combs on practice squad. we can adress rb depth next year if betts leaves
