illdefined 03-21-2006, 04:16 PM The Post casually mentioned in an article today how the Skins signed a new starting TE, but I assumed Cooley was still our man and that Fauria replaced Royal as first non-H-Back TE.
I know Cooley is the starting H-Back, but on single TE non F/H-Back sets, who gets up on the line?
I'm not terribly familiar with Fauria, what are his strengths? is he a pass-catcher like Cooley, better at blocking etc? i'm sure they'll both be on the field together alot, but Cooley's still the starting "Go To" guy right?
PSUSkinsFan21 03-21-2006, 04:18 PM I think he could technically be the "starting TE" depending on the starting formation. If you go 2 WR, 5 OL, 1 TE, 1 HB, 1 TB, 1 QB.....then he's a "starter". Basically, Cooley takes the place of the starting FB that most teams go with.......so that opens up another TE spot.
illdefined 03-21-2006, 04:22 PM but on goalline/shortyardage situations when we have Mike "secret weapon" Sellers out there as the real FB, who's up on the line? Chris or Christian?
Krills 03-21-2006, 04:23 PM He's a blocking tight end. I think we have plenty of people to throw the ball to now, heh?

Both, I mean one will be tight, Fauria, and the other, Cooley will be out in space trying to creat mis-matches, favorable for us...
Big C 03-21-2006, 04:24 PM ive always thought of fauria as a balanced tight end. can block and has solid hands. he is our TE, Cooley is our H-back. Fauria simply replaces Royal
Krills 03-21-2006, 04:24 PM but on goalline/shortyardage situations when we have Mike "secret weapon" Sellers out there as the real FB, who's up on the line? Chris or Christian? It all depends on the formation. If were are trying to make it look like a run, then I'm sure Fauria will be on the line (Vice Versa).

oh yeah? a big body blocker? excellent that's what i was hoping to hear, i hope he's good at pass protection, for the frequent times you basically need another lineman.
i was under the mild impression (from the few times i can stomach watching the Pats) that he was a pass-catcher.

Agreed, depends on the formation they call for....and many times both will still be in there (2TE sets).
Big C 03-21-2006, 04:34 PM apparently fauria is a good locker room guy also, dont know if i heard that from on this site or in an interview.
