I think that with Saunders coming in, we might see more Spread Sets with all 4 on the line. The problem is that Coach Superior tried the same thing a few years ago and now Patrick Ramsey is in New York and still suffering PTSD.

What I'm still trying to noodle through is where Cooley will line up. You simply cannot take him out of a passing situation. He's too reliable as a checkdown or crossing receiver. Do you line him up in the backfield to pick up a blitz and/or break outside as a checkdown? Gonzalez lit it up in KC, so I know that Cooley's not going to be forgotten.

The Skins have a LOT of weapons at their disposal right now. Al Saunders should be grinning like a kid at Christmas devising schemes to take advantage of everyone. Plus, if they each can line up in different slots at different times, they will drive D-Coordinators crazy.

Isn't it nice to even be having this discussion for a change?

Regarding Cooley I think we'll continue to line him up all over the place. I can definitely see him taking on a Gonzalez type of role in this offense under Saunders.

Absolutely, Cooley may not be as big, but I think he may create more problems because he is pretty quick and most LBs can not keep up with him. And how many safeties do you keep in the game to cover our WR, if they do that, Portis will run all over them. I can see is creating all kinds of problems for teams.

I don't think we'll see a 4-WR set very often. Maybe occasionally, certainly more often than last year. But I see mostly a one-back set with Portis, 3 WRs, and Cooley in the traditional H-Back role. I honestly don't think Saunders is going to tinker with Cooley much. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. He's not going to force an entirely new system on the Redskins, he's going to adapt.

We'll still see our fair share of 2 WR, Portis, Cooley, and Fauria too. Gotta run with power sometimes.

For those of you familiar with the 2006 Madden "Joe Gibbs' Playbook." Please share a moment of silence with me as we contemplate the possibilities in the 3 receiver bunch set just off tackle. Oh my god, glorious day!

This may be for another topic, but seeing as how this discussion has gone the "Madden" route, here is my question: I guess Madden 07 will still be on the PS2 and not the new PS3 which is not coming out until close to Christmas right? The Madden 07 Skins should be fun to play!

oh no! Matty dont kill us. Please cease and desist from all Madden talk on this thread. I only meant to imply that it doesnt matter the order. Just get our top 3 on the field. And I do love the bunch.

This doesn't really answer the question of who starts, but nonetheless here's a Q & A with Stan Hixon

for madden's sake i hope we sign jeff mitchell (91 @ LG) and dyson (86 @ CB, high CTH) ;) mccune at ROLB is only a 75, but he's really fast, which makes it alright.
