What happened to Tupa? Last year he just all of a sudden went on injured reserve and then this year we cut him real quick. Did he have much cap savings and did he retire? Halls only problem is injuries not his abilities. I was reading back several months ago that he work out all the time and they where going to look at how he was working out. The thought was is he may have been doing more harm than good to his leg by how he was working out. Maybe they found something he was doing and changed his work outs and now feel comfortable with him
Gibbs said something about Halls workouts and that he has been working out maybe to much or something to that effected. That he[Hall] would need to work with team trainers this off season. Question here is can hs kick-offs get better....very bad last year.

hall was good until he got injured, and re-injured.
tupa had back spasms last offseason and because he's over 40, they don't want to risk it happening again.
frost sucks cause he's inconsistant. sometimes its high and short, sometimes its sorta downfield with not that great air time, sometimes (too often) he muffs it and it flies out sideways. he's just not very good.
whoever wants novak to come back should stop right there. he sucks. he has low range and he kicks low. he had 3 blocked kicks in under a year when most kickers have 1 or none in a year. he's strictly a backup kicker.

So what you are saying we have no punter.....Maybe we can get by with a healthy Hall? Is his kick-offs ever get better?

frost will probably be doing the kickoffs until everyone is 150% sure that hall can do it without nuking his leg again.
there are 3 decent punters this year (imo) 2 will be 6th-7th round picks and 1 will be undrafted. we should get one as competition in the very least. or grab dirk johnson from the eagles... cause that'd give us a punter and screw the eagles a tiny bit as well.

This is a big big big big mistake. Frost is bad and Hall is always hurt. They must be planning something? Please!

We have to do something about our kicking game. INHO it is one of the weakest areas we have. We at least need someone who can put in a FG of a little more than 40 yards

I agree 1000% with this. Novak is a pretty accurate kicker. He gets decent leg behind his kicks too, but that's only because he's launching it so low. The blocks are killer, they're susceptible to being run back for TDs. He's not an option in my book.

well joel, the good thing is we'll have hall working out rather than rehabbing this offseason. he should have his leg strength up to par. i also heard that last year danny smith was asking them to kick high and short to get the cover men down there.
No need to look at K and P when they weren't responsible for playoff shortcomings!
John Hall's missed FG in the Seattle game certainly didn't help. Just something to consider.

That cut the Seattle lead to a touchdown just 3:01 into the final quarter. Then Josh Scobee (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6896/) fumbled the kickoff and kicker John Hall (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/4126/) recovered, but Hall missed a 36-yard field-goal attempt that could have cut it to four.

I'm hoping we draft a kicker or punter in the low rounds and replace Hall or Frost. It's hard to have confidence in either guy right now.
