we wouldn't even need to restructure. he'd go from 3/year (first three years) to 4.5mill a year over the last four... either he merits that paycheck or he doesn't. after the 4th year he can be cut for instant cap savings at any time.

So does this mean that we get more "cap friendly" over the next three years?

Guy, I'm interested in knowing where the Redskins rank in terms of payroll. Not really cap numbers, per se.

With all the talk of us over-spending, I wonder who actually has the highest payroll in the NFL. I'm tired of these arm-chair cap analysts on TV who critisize us year in and year out.

only if we don't continue adding more players with big bonuses and more massive restructuring efforts.

but we probably will ;) we lead the league in deadcap every year i believe (which is cap charges for players no longer on your roster).

that only goes to 2004 :/

says we had 117mill spent in 2004, 2005 would probably be less (only two minor signings and moss) and this year (obviously) is going to be more.

What's interestng is that in 2004 half of the teams with the highest payroll didn't make the playoffs. And I'm sure that '05 had a similiar number.

I'm confortable with us being highest paid as long as we're contenders.

Yeah it will depend on how he does in the first 3 years of the contract. If he's good, the Skins will restructure the contract and prorate that big base salary in the 4th year over the remaining life of the contract.

Agreed.
