also: the post reports

The Redskins are believed to be pursuing San Diego cornerback Jamar Fletcher for their vacant nickel back spot. Fletcher, 26, is a former first-round pick of Miami who had one sack and one interception last year.

anyone know is j fletcher is any good? the san diego secondary wasn't very good, and he's the #3 CB there...

san diego finished 28th in pass D.

cowart has definitely lost a step from years past when he was in buffalo

that's discouraging, but MLB is a position where speed is less important than the rest of the back 7. still, after 31 he could be headed downhill fast. 100+ tackle/year MLBs tend not to age that well.

I like the interest in cowart,he would be a good addition, but i sure hope we could keep Evans,he played really well last yr at times.and was good in the d- line rotation.

This would be sick. Cowart at MLB and move Marshall out to ROLB?!?!?!?

I'm not sure it is legal for one team to improve itself so much in one year...

Lemar Marshall isn't big enough to play outside linebacker, if we were to sign Cowart they would both most likely have to compete for the starting job at middle. If Cowart starts at middle we should expect to see Greg put Lemar in similar type situations as Clemons on third down packages and such. But I can see Cowart moving to ROLB because lemar has been in the system and did a good job calling plays at middle last year.

LB is a position i would really like to see filled with the draft. maybe sign a vet backup just in case the rookie doesnt pan out. i mean a lot of rookie LBs work out.

Marshall played on the outside the year before when LaVar was out, his size really isn't an issue. He's not big enough by NFL standards to play the middle but he did that just fine last year.

If we sign Cowart it seems natural that he would play MLB and Marshall would move to the weak side. Cowart doesn't sound interested in playing outside.

i think cowart also had a serious injury rather recently, int he past few years. he would be alright for a one or 2 year fix maybe, but definitely not a big contract...

when pierce was here, you know lemar played extensively in place of lavar right? he was a college safety and speed is most definately not a concern (unlike cowhart, who IS slow now that he's pushing 31).

someone else (sorry, i suck at names :/ ) brought up polley, who looked alright and had a decent stat line. he's younger as well.
