Dolphins | Team to visit with Maddox
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 19:01:05 -0800

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) will visit with free agent QB Tommy Maddox (http://www.kffl.com/player/1533/nfl) (Steelers) Tuesday, March 21. Agent Vann McElroy said Maddox has also received interest from Oakland and Cincinnati, but the Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) situation may be the most intriguing because Mike Mularkey (http://www.kffl.com/player/7754/nfl) is now the offensive coordinator.

Bears | Team begins Griese visit
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 21:01:42 -0800

John Mullin and K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, report the Chicago Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) began their visit with free agent QB Brian Griese (http://www.kffl.com/player/602/nfl) (Buccaneers) Sunday, March 19. The visit is expected to continue into Monday, March 20. Griese has maintained he will be healthy by training camp as he recovers from last season's knee injury. The Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) are looking to sign a veteran quarterback likely to supplant QB Kyle Orton (http://www.kffl.com/player/11298/nfl) as the backup and for insurance should starting QB Rex Grossman (http://www.kffl.com/player/5889/nfl) suffer another injury. Griese's best option may be a one-year deal that allows him to demonstrate his recovery and possibly play his way into another long-term deal beginning in 2007.

Bengals | Team expected to contact Griese's agent Monday
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 21:27:03 -0800

John Mullin and K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, report the Cincinnati Bengals (http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl) visited with free agent QB Brian Griese (http://www.kffl.com/player/602/nfl) (Buccaneers), but he left without a contract offer. However, a source said the Bengals (http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl) intend to contact Ralph Cindrich, Griese's agent, Monday morning, March 20, indicating they're not conceding he will sign with the Chicago Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl).

Does anyone here think Harrington is worth more than Patrick?

I lean towards "hell no." but i think my bias may be showing.

harrington has no leadership skills and apparently very poor people skills as well.

Here is my prediction.... Ramsey has learned more from Gibbs in the last couple of years than he did his whole time with Spurrier. He will be given a shot in NY and will replace Pennigton as the starter before too long. Harrington is a joke. I think Harrington has had more talent arround him that Ramsey ever did, but could not make it as a starting QB.

Vikings | Childress had thoughts of Owens in dealing with Culpepper
Mon, 20 Mar 2006 14:21:17 -0800

John Shipley, of the Pioneer Press (http://www.kffl.com/link/26), reports Minnesota Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) head coach Brad Childress (http://www.kffl.com/player/8309/nfl) said he heard enough from former QB Daunte Culpepper (http://www.kffl.com/player/1120/nfl) to know that he did not want to be with the Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) and that the feeling was mutual. Childress had plenty of background experience having to deal with WR Terrell Owens (http://www.kffl.com/player/1608/nfl) for the last two seasons. In his first public appearance in the Twin Cities, Childress told a St. Paul Chamber of Commerce luncheon crowd he didn't like what he heard from Culpepper during the few conversations they have had since Childress was hired Jan. 5. Childress was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in Philadelphia the past seven seasons, the last two with Owens, whose egocentric, and eccentric, behavior ultimately became such a headache that his prodigious talent was deemed not worth it.

Lions | Millen will meet with Harrington soon
Mon, 20 Mar 2006 17:56:24 -0800

Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions QB Joey Harrington is currently on vacation in Southeast Asia. Two sources said he was ready to return to take part in the team's offseason conditioning program, but head coach Rod Marinelli decided to move in a different direction. Harrington is expected to return from vacation and talk to team president Matt Millen late this week, two other sources said. The Lions have almost three months to make a move with Harrington. He is due a $4 million roster bonus June 15.
