may be true, but drafting people because he is from your state doesn't win ball games.
i definitely agree there. often you hear the media guys talking about how "he would be great in his hometown of _______." is that REALLY going to translate to them playing better? i think as long as theyre happy wherever they are, theyll play fine.

What would they give up? For the #2 pick it would have to be pretty substantial wouldn't it?
It would take a hell of a lot. I don't see it happening.

If they draft him I'll feel bead because I actually like Vince Young. Oh well, he can get punished just like Bledsoe did at The Big Jack, The Fed, FedEx Field whatever you want to call it. Oh lord I should have gotten my season tickets and waited to propose!
HAIL !!!

I can bet my life that this will not happen. Both Jerry Jones and Parcells want to win now. Young is a project that will take a couple of years to develope. The last thing Parcells wants to do is develope a quaterback. There looking for a super bowl run.
sure they do, but they may also think that young can put in a couple roethlisberger like seasons & will give them a star for years to come. I agree that parcells probably wouldn't pick him, but JJ would & he may be fed up w/watching bledsoe get pounded in the pocket.
I would hate such a thing. Funny, my wife (btw, a cowpokes fan) said that she had a feeling he'd wear a cowpoke uniform.

when the 2 qbs are very good, being from the home state with a big fan base could easily be the deciding factor. thats really what i was alluding to. especially when the owner is a texan like jerry jones

It'd be great for them, and bad for us I'm afraid. I'm usually VERY hard on QB prospects, but I really think Young is the real deal. Might not be a genius, but the guy knows football, he knows the QB position, and he knows how to win. Period.
Lets not get carried away with Young. No one noticed him until there were "changes" at Texas. 1) Mack Brown at the beginning of this year had to scale the playbook down significantly for Vince to understand it. 2) The plays were basically Vince right, Vince left and Vince up the middle with occasional passing.
Young is going to surprise people in a bad way.

to add on, he's ONLY worked out of the shotgun, he had lots of designed QB runs (that don't work in the nfl cause you're QB will end up dead), and on passing plays he was told to take off very quickly if it wasn't immediately open.
he'll need years, he's a project and more likely to be a great althlete/average QB (like vick), then a faster version of daunte.
marcus vick ran much closer to a real offense, though his experience isn't very broad right now (his own fault).
