Wynn may get boot (http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20060314-010610-1179r.htm)
March 14
Washington Times: "While the Redskins have a greater need at linebacker after the release of three-time Pro Bowl selection LaVar Arrington, Carter fits better at defensive end, which could put holdover starter Renaldo Wynn in jeopardy of being cut."

if it means signing abraham, i do not like it a bit

Forget Abraham ... we are not signing him. We're looking at free agency purely for depth now (with the possible exception of OLB).

I wouldn't have much of an issue with us cutting Wynn. He doesn't really bring any production to the table and he makes too much money. I say we keep Daniels to start and re-sign Evans.

Also, if the coaching staff thinks Evans could become a starter, why not bring him back and tell him to wait out the Phillip Daniels era. It won't be that much longer, he's not getting any younger.

I think they like Evans' versatility, he filled in some at DT last year while Big Joe and Griff were out. But they're not going to offer him starters money. But who will?

true. i think hes deluding himself into thinking someone will offer him that. he might want to try and show some team spirit and stay. as gw says, EVERYONE is a starter in certain packages.

Wynn is a monster run stuffer, they need to keep him and play him on 1st and 2nd downs so we can keep a pass rushing DE kami-kaze fresh!

Williams is always rotating players. Don't be surprised if we keep Wynn, assuming he comes back fully healthy, and Carter comes in on 2nd/3rd down a lot.

i agree, evans wants to start though and i cant see him displacing daniels.

According to the ESPN the book on Evans is that too many snaps wears him down. That doesn't sound like a starter.

wynn is 295lbs, if he was going to be cut, it would have happened already.

They like him in the lockerroom and he's a good DT, my guess is he becomes our #2 and joe S goes back to the bench, or they rotate.
