As I sat here salivating over next season and trying to devise a way to get season tickets, I thought to myself; What do the skins need to do next? I decided to stop throwing names out there and actually think who will be of the most benefit here in Washington. To do this I first thought to myself how would I stop this new skins team?

1. Ball Control- do my best to run the clock and keep this offense off the field
2. Blitz like there was no tommrow. Disrupt the timing and try to keep brunnel on his back.
3.Special teams- try to make them give up the ball and run through their coverages like sliced butter.

So in my opinion the next step in free agentcy is to get these key players or retain these players services.

Ryan Clark- Although we have Archuleta before there was a bust of a guy named Bowen, who was supposed to be our run stopping, big hitting safety. Who was the player for us who stepped in admirably to create a nice duo with Taylor?... Clark. Ryan as a backup and filler in key situations will be needed to retain. I say let omar go and keep Ryan and Pierson Prioleau
to protect us from the injury bug.

James Thrash- although now it seems that we have a over crowded wr corp, we still need Thrash tremendously. Along with Ade Jimoh I see him as the heart of our special teams.

Vetran Line Depth- When need to keep some good reserves available so that if someone gets hurt, a reserve can step in and not miss a beat. Losing Jansen 2 years ago killed us and losing thomas last year hurt us in the playoffs. My suggestions would be the guys we are already pursuing Guard John Goodwin, Kevin Barry and Jeff Mitchell among others.

I also think we need a run stuffer that would free up griffin to make plays. My suggestion would be Ryan Pickett Age: 26 Height: 6-2 Weight: 310 lbs. Many consider him going into the upside off his career. also bring back Cedric Killings for depth.

For weakside line backer I suggest Keith Adams formerly of the eagles. The Eagles resigned Barber so I don't think he may be in their plans. He is a "Longtime special teams standout finally got a chance to start in 2005 and ended up starting all 16 games on the weak side. Shorter than most teams like, but gets around the football, as evidenced by 59 tackles last season, and can still play on kick coverage units," Pasquarelli ESPN.

The corner position and punter and/or kicker can be addressed in the draft. Tell me what you guy think.

Most of what you say is right on!!! What I said in another post is that I think we need to get LB Tommy Polley 6-3 245. He would be a great fit in a GW defence! He had 97 tackeles 72 solo and 25 ast. He has been in the league 4 season and is a good character guy from what I have read! I think he would be just great with Washington and Marshall!!!

I think we trade up and select a LB in the draft and resign Holdman. He filled in Nicely for Arringdone this season.

The only drawback I see on holdman is his age and the fact he was caught out of position a couple of times

Nice post. I'm sort of torn between Omar and Clark. I probably like Omar better but Clark deserves to be rewarded more so than Omar and he probably has bigger upside.

I'd like to keep Thrash as well. As the #5 receiver

We definitely need O-line depth. You can never have too much depth there.

As for defense. I really don't know who to go after for LB. Pickett is a nice choice for DT. How about the Jets' James Reed. Has he signed with anyone? He's a bit undersized but a decent back-up run stopper

Sign Olindo Mare if the Fins cut him

Holdman apparently had problems picking up the defensive schemes, with a year under his belt he might be much improved this year. Just a thought.

i can see your point about the schemes, but it just seemed he was lacking physically. i remember him getting stuffed a lot by TEs and pulling guards, etc.

I hope Matty is right and Holdman isn't as worthless as he seemed. Sounds like the scheme is somewhat difficult to pick up sicne two quality LBs had trouble. I guess Arrington didn't have trouble so much as he supposedly had an inability to follow the scheme but either way that's two guys who couldn't operate in the scheme for whatever reason. We need smarties in the LB crew. Pierce proved that.

Looks like the best staff and players in DC in ages. Im still worried about the QB situation. I know MB will look and play better with more weapons but............. Anyway Ive abused Google looking for anything on Cambell. Ive never been a Brunell basher or a Ramsey praiser either. I just want whos best for the job. Hell let Mr. El play QB if he gives us the best shot. IMO which doesnt mean anything I hope JC gets the nod. With a group of WR's we have any THIRD string QB in the NFL could have some success. So turn Cambell loose.
