If this is the guy they feel can help them, then I am psyched, because once again, the skins got their man despite the fact that another team (and one with sentimental pull--Denver) was in the mix.

Also, it's kinda tough to judge the numbers of anyone on SF--remember how we clobbered them? No one looked good that day, but I am sure there are good players there. I'm not a scout, so I'll trust he's got the qualities that Williams is after.

The guy has 6.5 sacks over the last 2 years.............what'd we give him? 30 mil?

6.5 sacks as an LB in two years. as a DE he had 25.5 sacks in three years.

if we're still going after JA that's a huge mistake. that really would press on the money and possibly prevent getting the last three needs filled (CB/LB/OL) and cost us a draft pick.

vinny said they were almost done, so hopefully JA isn't in the plans.

good news, only if we play him at DE, which i anticipate we will...

I disagree. The majority of his plays will be at DE but the more versatile players that GW has in his arsenal the better the defense will be. Williams has put together one of the best defenses in the league without a pass rush. That is an incredible feat. Having a great 'tweener is only going to make them more dynamic. If Taylor gets off, this D is going to be incredible.

he's not a great tweener. he's a great DE and a bad LB.

But he can be lined up at linebacker. That is the key. He is versatile and it gives Williams more flexibility.

They said the same thing about Griffin he didn't have a lot of sacks and we gave him a huge salary so.... past is the past hopefully he pulls a Griffin and plays excellent

carter had never played linebacker until last year. also, he was injured almost the entire year the year before, thus the 6.5 in the last 2 years. misleading. he only played linebacker because it was 3-4, and he was too small to be 3-4 DE. he has never played 4-3 linebacker. he is a DE.
