Now that we are solidifying the offense.. lets start seeing some signings on the Defensive side. I'd like to see a couple of signings on the D-line alone, and then gamble with the 2nd pick for an outside linebacker. Speaking of which, can anyone out there tell me what they think of Clemmons from last year? I think if we can sign him pretty cheap then he could step in right away. He came along a bit last year and has all the tools it takes for our scheme.. I remember him from UGA and if I'm not mistaken he left very early(fast, and active)... I say we Pick up Carter and draft another OLB for the future. I would say spend the 2nd on secondary, but with drafting a corner on day one last year, I think we need some vets to help out. I like the Archuleta prospect for saftey, but we need corners.. bad. Who is out there worth the money? Do we go Smoot again? What do you guys think the best direction is?

CB - 2nd or 3rd tier guy (maybe dyson, he can be a #2 when healthy, cheap due to a bad year and injuries)
SS - archuleta, cause GW obviously likes him
DE - carter - GW picked him out too
OLB - ?? probably can't afford a big name, so a good backup like brandon short or hope the guy's already on roster (mccune?)

K - FA signing or keep hall and hope
P - RFA or late/undrafted college guy

RFAs to look at:
LG (cards) - R Wells (6th)
P (iggles) - Dirk Johnson (no compensation)

2nd pick - OL (spencer, OG/OT/DT, massive (352lbs))
5th - CB/OL most likely (if one falls) otherwise best useful player

After seeing the stuff about Carter, I really hope the team goes strongly after him in contract talks cuz it would be awesome to finally have a young pass-rushing de like him on the team.

arch. I'm still not sure about and I'm curious to see who they are talking too to fill the lb spot or if they will replace arrington from within.

Sun, 12 Mar 2006 22:15:20 -0800

Danny O'Neil, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports free agent DT Rocky Bernard (Seahawks) has a visit scheduled for the upcoming week, but his agent's office has declined to disclose his travel plans.

why do I get the feelimg we're the undisclosed team?

dont know why a lot of ppl are mentioning mccune. did he even play a defensive snap last year? he was on practice squad most of the time and did special teams. anyways, clemons is our best olb left on the roster to replace arrington. its either him or a free agent/rookie

why would a rookie be any better than mccune at this point? i mean its not like they've played a snap in the nfl.

because a 2nd round pick rookie (which would be the only draft choice i think could start right away) would be better than a 27 year old 2nd year player who has never played a down and doesnt even have much college experience, let alone pro experience, and doesnt even play olb. i think people are just enamoured by his muscular figure and are forgetting this is a guy who we really dont know much about on the playing field

except your wrong ;) besides a year of practice in the NFL, he did play in five games and had 3 tackles.
