Assuming the report on ESPN was legit, and that Jacobs is already packing his bags...is Patten heading out of DC? Because of last seasons injuries, and lackluster performance when he wasn't injuried, I think he is gone.

I don't know that we can rush to that decision quite yet about patten, jacobs however is done. Last year we had NOOOOO depth at wideout and when patten got injured our offense suffered. I would prefer to keep Thrash over patten though because of his great special teams play.

Regarding contracts, Patten has to stay. Considering upside (notwithstading) Jacobs would be the one.

Cutting Patten would only save us about 647K. So I think he stays this year at least.
Poor guy came to DC because he was the 4th guy in NE, and look at him now, 4th guy in DC.

Patten will be here, why get rid of quality depth? That would be dumb.

I agree, he wasn't used as a #2 in NE. I hope he can deal with moving back to #4 this year. I think it's probably a better idea to hang on to him judging from what happened last year when he went down. I know you can have too many egos at WR, but I now don't think that you can have too many bodies

Patten is a Redskins type of player, not afraid to do the physical dirty work. He is a keeper.
Jacobs on the other had is a wimp and does not like to mix it up with the DB's. Send that wuss back to Florida.

No James Thrash and Jacobs are toast. Gibbs got rid of Coles, Gardner and McCants and only replaced the 1# position and really didn't have the players to replace the 2#and 3# spots. If Patten stays he's a number 4# respectfully. I think Al Saunders will utilize all of these guys in offensive packages in the same way as Gregg Williams did with the defense.

Patten actually was the Pats' #2 WR before he cam here.
