No he wasn't he was the # 3 or 4. Branch was 1 and Givens was two.
in 2003, but Patten only played 6 games that year. in 2004, Givens was #1 and Patten #2 (Branch only played 9 games that year)
In 2001 and 2002 Patten was the #2 to Troy Brown

about ST, what is the deal with his situation now(sorry to ask an always popular question, but I just do not want to start another thread and get hated forever).
OT, but no new developments at all.

Assuming the report on ESPN was legit, and that Jacobs is already packing his bags...is Patten heading out of DC? Because of last seasons injuries, and lackluster performance when he wasn't injuried, I think he is gone.
MUCH too soon to say. Team needs depth in each position as well as starters and Patten, Lloyd and Randle-El gives you that. Lloyd hasn't seen a playbook, or run a pass pattern in practice yet. He's likely to displace Patten at number 2 and maybe challenge for number 1 (wouldn't that be something), but no one knows until they suit up and you get time in games.
Gone? Not likely.

I think it makes sense to hang on to Patten as a #4.. We see how a long season can take a few recievers out for a couple of weeks. And I'm a Gator, but Jacobs is a Pussywillow... He missed his window of success, now its all metal, so gatta go, gatta go!!! No need to cut someone like Patten at his salary then sign another reciever (3) or draft one with the few picks.

No question that David Patten will be back. No reason to let him go. Especially with the talent added this weekend. Jacobs might attempt to make a go of training camp, but more likely will hope to get on another team and turn his career around. As for WR order we'll have to wait and see who compliments Redskins recordbreaker Santana Moss! Can't wait!
