Patten actually was the Pats' #2 WR before he cam here.

Givens, Branch & Troy Brown were ahead of him.

wait first for the training camp, after that Dibbs will make the decision

cutting thrash saves us more money than cutting patten. cutting brown and jacobs save us more than patten.

patten is probably staying. thrash brown and jacobs are all probably gone (1.9mill in savings)

seriously who would you rather have? a 500-800yard WR or 3 guys that totalled close to 100 yards this season.

patten was #3 in NE...but in 2004 when branch got hurt, he was #2 and he played pretty well

Patten will be here, why get rid of quality depth? That would be dumb.

I agree that he probably will be here but I'm not sure he'll be happy. He obviously was not happy with his opportunities last year, now they may be even fewer.

Givens, Branch & Troy Brown were ahead of him.

Branch went down and Patten stepped in as the #2. Troy Brown was #4 on the depth chart; dude hasn't been a serious wideout in years.

Givens: 56 receptions, 874 yards, 3 TDs
Patten: 44 receptions, 800 yards, 7 TDs
Branch: 35 receptions, 454 yards, 4 TDs (only played 9 games)
Brown: 17 receptions, 184 yards, 1 TD

My guess is Patten stays and it's a wide open competition for spots. Thrash seems superfluous with Randal-el's specials abilities, but Gibbs LOVES Thrash, so he may find a way to keep him.

We'll see!

Depends on the years you are looking at. Either way who cares, he will be the #3 or 4 here.

Patten will make a mighty fine #4

Sounds like Saunders will be running alot of 3 WR sets, so depth will be important.

Patten will be back.
