Archuleta hit the road......RedskinPete 03-11-2006, 04:14 PM The Ram have signed Corey Chavous to a 5 year deal to replace Archuleta at the S spot as reported by the AP. jdlea 03-11-2006, 04:37 PM wow...that's a pretty big addition for the Rams. Makes me wonder why Chavous wasn't on the Skins radar. I didn't even know he was a free agent. I would have preferred to put him back there with ST. That Guy 03-11-2006, 05:20 PM I mentioned him... I think he was the best FA safety. I'd be interested to hear his contract numbers though. much better than AA and the rams are winning the offseason right now. monster DT (stopgap, still good) centerfield S (plenty of years left, smart, quality guy) EXoffender 03-11-2006, 05:21 PM Archuleta. The next Matt Stevens? jdlea 03-11-2006, 05:23 PM Archuleta. The next Matt Stevens? I never really liked Matt Stevens...did anyone else get the impression that whenver he thought he might miss a tackle he would just grab the facemask? I don't know if there's anything more insulting than calling another safety Matt Stevens...kinda like when I call Peyton Manning the Alex Rodriguez of the NFL. EXoffender 03-11-2006, 05:28 PM I was good with Stevens for most of his time with the club. What are Archuleta's strengths? SmootSmack 03-11-2006, 05:44 PM Apparently Archuleta is meeting with the Bears on Monday. I wonder if we met with Archuleta to force the Bears to up their ante to him and thereby maybe not have enough to sign Randle El. Or if we're meeting with Randle El for the same reason. My gut says no, but still... jdlea 03-11-2006, 05:46 PM Maybe the Skins will just make everyone cancel their trips to Chicago. That would be sweet! Dirtbag59 03-11-2006, 05:53 PM I was good with Stevens for most of his time with the club. What are Archuleta's strengths? Archuleta is like a poor mans Roy Williams that still has the ability to play at a pro bowl level. He'll basically be an enforcer across the middle with Taylor. Man can you imagine running a slant route and getting hit by Archuleta, Taylor, and Washington at the same time. Actually he reminds me a bit of Pat Tillman and Michael Boulware. He played LB in college but was drafted 20th overall as a safety. Hope this helps. jdlea 03-11-2006, 05:56 PM The issue that I have with Archuleta is simply that he can't cover. I like to watch him light people up, but I think I could create separation on Adam Archuleta |
