Isn't this guy basically Rod Gardner, but a little faster? Do we really want 50/50 back? Why do you think he's like Gardner? Is Randle-El Gardner, only a lot faster? They both were ex-QBs.
Only time will tell.

Although we haven't signed him yet, the proposed deal is rumored to be a 5 or 6 year deal with a $10 million signing bonus. So, if I had to guess, we're looking at a contract of about $30 million for 6 years with a $10 million signing bonus.
wow ! that seems a bit steep.

seems reasonable. i doubt his contract will be as undervalued as moss's contract is, but its nice to have guys play below their worth for long periods of time ;).

What did Moss get a year ago????
7 years 31$mill with about 10-11mill in guarantees.

because of the new cba and such, lloyd will actually get a bigger contract than santana in all likelyhood. It'll probably average 5$mill a year vs moss's 4.5$mill per.

Two mid round picks for a RFA?
Pretty good deal for the Skins if you ask me.
Especially considering most draft analysts have rated this year's WR crop one of the worst in recent memory, and the number of "hot" FA WR is practically nil.
I don't see how we could not get our money's worth out of this deal. He can't get *worse* coming to Washington, unless he's just so used to making fingertip one-handed circus catches that he's unable to play in a normal offense.

My concern is that Moss will look at his contract, look at Lloyd's, look at his stats, look at Lloyd's, realize that he's the #1 whereas Lloyd is the #2, and say ... where the hell is my damned new contract?

I think one of the side benefits of this whole character before talent rant thing the skins are on is that people just don't complain about much. sean taylor's value over his contract is EXTREME compared to moss (unless taylor makes the pro bowl, which he will). But you have to remember, contracts increase by about 5% a year (more this year due to the cba increase).
moss laid down 8$mill worth of production last year for nearly nothing (1.5mill base salary), if he just that this year as well, than taking the hit for coles in addition to his contract would look like a bargain (moreso than it does thusfar that is).
