This is the latest from ESPN:

The Redskins came out swinging. They made contact after midnight Friday with 49ers defensive end Andre Carter, Rams safety Adam Archuleta, Chiefs quarterback Todd Collins and Steelers receiver Antwaan Randle El and have them flying in as early as Saturday.

The Redskins are also working on a possible trade for restricted free agent Brandon Lloyd of the 49ers. Lloyd was given the first round tender, but the Redskins have initiated trade talks that could give the 49ers two mid-round draft picks. Lloyd agreed Friday night to make a visit to the Redskins on Sunday. There is a good chance Lloyd will come to an agreement with Redskins for big money before the end of the weekend. The plan for the Redskins is to sign Antwaan Randle El and Lloyd.

Cross Koren Robinson off the list of potential WRs. He's staying in Minnesota (http://www.startribune.com/510/story/299956.html)

So Moss and Lloyd I guess would be 1 and 2. Then is Patten #3, or Randle-el? Randle-el will definitely be exciting to have here. As for Lloyd, I think there are better choices out there at WR that wouldn't mean draft picks.

both? wow. that's not overkill. I guess if they can keep the #2 and #3 they'll be in good shape to give campbell every chance to win right away ;)

Love Carter.

Archuletta inspires ambivalence.

I am concerned that they are serious about Randle-El. I got that way when Wilbon mentioned it, because it makes me think that Gibbs dropped Randle-El's name in conversation, as it is my understanding that Wilbon talks to Gibbs on and off informally.

I would prefer Lloyd, but again, it seems unlikely to me that 49ers would not match any offer we could make. Of course Joe Gibbs is a real producer in free agency. You know what they say at Redskins Park--Coffee is for Closers. Maybe Gibbs can convince him to come our way.

Lloyd 6-1,185.....Moss 5-10,185.....El 5-10-186....Cooley6-3,265. I thought El was bigger then that! As for Llody I saw him a few times out here on the left coast. He gose gets the ball and will go in the middle of the field. He shows off great jumping skills and shows off an acrobatatic flair! What will be the cost for both El and Lloyd???

No idea, seems crazy, would they then release Patten? At least ESPN is saying that they are talking mid-round picks (which I'm assuming doesn't include a #2) for Llyod. I mean the Vikings can't even get a #2 for Culpepper (I know he is hurt, but he threw 44 touchdowns and 10 Ints two seasons ago) and last year the Seahawks couldn't give Shaun Alexander for a #3. I mean I know the moves worked out, but wouldn't you like to have the #2 that we had to add to the Bailey/Portis trade (turned into Tatum Bell, could have been Bob Sanders, Michael Boulware . . . )

I would rather have an LB or CB instead of Archuletta. This may be some worst case scenario preparation if Taylor serves time.

Randle-El and Lloyd? Say hello to #4 Patten. I wonder if his comments have ticked off the coaches.

The more I think about it, I like the move. If Moss goes down they still have a decent group of wideouts. It is probably safe to say that Jacobs and Thrash are history.
