I've been preaching about Llyod all year. I knew it would be just amount of time before the team caught up to my predictions. We have his 85# jersey already printed and the contract offer ready, just prepare yourself for the press conference next week. Now lets get a pass-rusher and the Superbowl is ours.

They probably don't want to lose him to begin with and are scaring off teams with the 1st round tender. They are kidding if they actually think he's worth a #1...they know they will need to agree to less if it comes to him actually leaving. The 1st round tender is to keep other teams away so that they can negotiate a nice below market contract.

True, but they assuming someone will bite on that bluff. I just hope we aren't the one to do so. :(

The skins don't even have the #1 to bite with...so hopefully that's enough to deter them. Basically Restricted free agency is not free agency at all. All the team needs to do is tender the guy above his worth and that's the end of it. They can tell every team that they are not negotiating and the #1 round pick price tag is final. That would be the end of it and Lloyd is forced to accept the 49ers offer or hold out.

Ohhh, I thought the #1 price tag was what you had to give up to be a RFA. Maybe I'm thinking of franchise players.

Not sure what you mean. I believe when a player is a restricted free agent his current team tenders him an offer. The level of the offer they give him has a corresponding draft pick value. The 49ers really don't want ot lose Lloyd so they gave him a 1st round tender. What that means is that Lloyd is free to sign with any team, but if he does sign the 49ers would have the right to match the offer...should they choose not to then the team that signed Lloyd will have to give the 49ers a 1st round pick. Typically what happens is that the teams get together and agree on a more fair form of compensation if it becomes clear that the player will be moving on.

The Redskins signed Coles as a restricted FA a few years ago and had to give NY a 1st round pick when NY decided not to match the Redskins contract offer.

llyod makes a circus catch and than drops easy stuff, he's another 50/50 (though he has better ups).

I rather go after nate or K Curtis is we're chasing RFAs (both 3rd round pick reqs) than betting the bank on lloyd. you'd be giving up a drafted starter with any of the 3 though, so i rather just get someone else. lloyd isn't good enough to merit that much.

I would have liked ike, but at 5mill per, that's really expensive.

this video proves why we shouldn't get him. he had so many highlight catches they had to repeat them 2, 3, and 4 times within one two minute video.

where's the complementary video of all his drops?
