LB: I would love to Wetherspoon..but i think Leber from SD would be a good option also, and CHEAPER.
WR/KR: I know everyone would like Randle El or Givens but i thinkg they will be priced out of our range...I think we should then look at Gaffney and Drummond. Gaffney could be a nice complament to Moss and Patten, and Drummonds would be a nice SP pick up, and they both are young and shouldn't combind to cost as much as Givens or EL
OL: M.Brown from Texans and Kevin Barry from GB would be nice young, but experienced line depth that agains shouldn't break the bank.
K: FORGET CHEAP, go for Veneteri...sorry about the spelling, but you guys know who i'm talking about.
What do you guys think???? I know there is a few more wholes, but I think at Safety we will give Williams who ever he wants and at Punter it doesn't really matter any of the FA's will be an upgrade...and i also think that we should go after Howard at DE, so that doesn't fall into my topic of cheap.

I think their general personnel strategy is to find players at a reasonable price who can help them down the road. I don't think they are going to break the bank unless they think that the player is something very special.
I think Leber is an intriguing possibility to fill in on the weakside, although I don't think he has much pass rushing ability. Then again, it isn't like we got much pressure from that position last year. I'd be happy if we acquired him and Carter from the 49ers. Our options up front would immediately expand if we could acquire these two guys.
I don't know much about the receivers or the linemen you mention.
Nice to see some 'Skins fans in the boot!

Drummond is nothing special. Sure, he's fast, but we already have fast. And our fast can catch, too.
Gaffney has made a career out of underachieving, but OTOH he's been stuck in Houston so it's entirely possible he's ready to break out. His numbers certainly don't warrant big money so he could turn into a Reggie Wayne kind of WR2 if it turns out he's just been languishing in a bad offense all this time.
The other wildcards for me are K-Drop and Antonio Bryant. Both have boatloads of talent but big personality / character questions. They say K-Drop has cleaned himself up and is committed to becoming a top receiver again, and I'm sure Gibbs would give a guy a second chance if he truly believed he was genuine. But is he one of those 5-10% who do manage to turn it around, or will he relapse?
Bryant seems to have a prima donna thing going on but the kid has skills and likes to catch the long ball. Parcells basically exiled him, though, so you don't want to bring in a rotten apple.

I should say I think Bruce is who we're gonna get if the price isn't too high, because he'll make a good "Gibbs guy" and Brunell is proof of that. But I bet Bruce is neither cheap nor old ;)

I wouldn't mind getting Bruce for a 2 year deal...but with him knowing that this will be his FINAL payday...he will probably want a 3-5 yr deal worth more then we need to spend on him.

For a big, young guy to add depth to our receiver position what about a guy who has worked extensively with Al Saunders already? Marc Boerigter

You saying just for depth purposes? Because now that Saunders is here I hear about him a lot. Was he any good?

The stats aren't impressive, but from the few times I've seen the Chiefs play it seems like he has some potential. But he's probably at best a #3 for now. I think more than anything he just needs the opportunity

I dunno. We have a #3 in Patten. Definitely wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in if he came for cheap.

longwell at K, he's younger and can stick around longer. OL is much cheaper in the draft. Gaffney would be a good pickup, so would Mcquarters for KR/spot CB duty. howard is cheaper than kampman/mathis, but i'd rather have a younger guy than a stop gap and either kamp or mathis could stick around a while (that'd obviously be the one big signing this year if it happened).
