We will draft a DB with our first pick.

Given that Walt Harris and Matt Bowen will be cut, and that defensive players are usually ready to play before offensive players, I firmly believe we will draft a DB with our first pick. The player will most probably be a CB. If you listen to the pundits, this draft is deep at DB and weak at WR. Gibbs will give Williams another toy to play with and give him another reason to stay right here. This will give us Springs, Rogers, Jimoh and TBD rookie at CB...

ill agree with you there. a good de could be had with our next pick (even though id prefer OL depth) well get a WR in FA, possibly a DE too and draft at CB, LB and DE.

I think the our second round pick will either be TE OL or LB, but we will see

Our second round pick will be the best player available. If there is a D-back who can step in at the 53rd pick, fine. I've seen mocks that have us drafting Maurice Stovall (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/wr/mauricestovall.html) at that pick, and I don't believe anyone would be upset if that happened. I've seen Kamerion Wimbley (http://www.nfldraftforecast.com/Profiles/kamerionwimbley.shtml) in more than a few mocks as well.

i think there will be some great OLmen available then. you think we would take them if they were first available?

It's possible, but since CB is a deep position in this year's draft, an OL would probably be a backup, and a CB could be a prominent player in a nickel capacity, I'd go with a CB.

Wow, that's a run-on sentence...

yeah if it were between the two. just askin

definitely be a nice luxury to rotate in someone to replace springs eventually.

Many of us are already discounting Springs, but I think he has a very good season ahead of him. Could be wrong, but that's just my gut feeling. Also, if his speed starts to decline, have him put 15 pounds on and he might make a nice strong safety. I'm just not sure if he's strong enough? thoughts?

i dont think anyone is discounting springs so much as were saying he cant play forever and since the cb depth is great this year, we can get a good one in the later rounds

I seriously doubt we will be drafting at TE that high. Maybe a project guy in the later rounds.

It's hard to say, but I think Cooley will become more of a true TE, and Sellars will play the FB/HB role in Saunders system.

Who knows, I could be completely wrong.
