How many years are we giving cambell to take the starting job?

The real question is, "How many snaps will it take for him to LOSE the starting job?"

PRIME?

Brooks puts up great numbers. The problem is that he has no real supporting cast. Joe Horn is a #2 at best anymore and Donte Stallworth has been a real disappointment. He is nearly always scrambling for his life and let's face it, when your two top running backs are Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker, you have to accept that the defense is not going to respect your running game. With a little help, Brooks could win a starting job in another city.

I wouldn't mind Brian Griese but he'll probably be too expensive. What about Jay Fiedler? or Dave Ragone?

You draft some bum to be the 3rd stringer. Campbell and Brunell will be 1 and 2, and I'm not even sure which one will be the starter. Unless you're talking minimum salary, I don't want a veteran for the #3 role.

I don't see Gibbs getting just anybody for that job. He will wanted a player that can jump in if Burnell gose down and Campbell is not ready. Also the 3rd string guy works out our D and that is also important! He will find the right guy for the right cost. As soon as Ramsey is traded and if he is I think you will see this to be one of the first moves Gibbs makes!

Up $10 million to $104 million.

BTW, we should now be able to resume talks with other teams re: trading Ramsey. The CBA extension got us cap relief (along with the other 31 teams) and a draft pick (since without the extension we might have had to release Ramsey for no compensation).

There has been talk out here on the left coast about Ramsey becoming a Raider! :coach:

That's what I've been saying. But according to John Clayton, Redskins gave Ramsey permission to speak to the Dolphins, Jets, and Lions.

Lions could be the one as well. Many think a top qb will not be there when they pick 9th in april's draft.

Would be ironic to see Harrington and Ramsey on the same team. Didn't we originally try to trade up for Harrington that year they were both drafted? I think Harrington needs a change of scenery, but maybe Martz can turn him around in Detroit.
