I'm tired of hearing about McCune...has everyone forgot that he was cut a couple of times during the season. Our search for Lavar's replacement is not in the locker room...We need to either acquire a FA (Fujita, Lang, or Barber) or draft (Thomas Howard).

Not Fujita or Barber please.

I tend to agree with you. Barber or Fujita would add some help. GW will probably pursue a FA linebacker. If its too pricey then it wouldn't be the end of the world to stay local (remember the young boys ARE being trained and coached by the best in the league). Don't forget it wouldn't be a bad idea to pursue a vet safety just in-case ST's whole legal situation turns south.
I think everyone will agree that on Defense the less we turn to the FA the better.

we are so close in terms of making it deep in the playoffs next year and probably the year after that they are not going to have time to draft a player who doesn't know the system, or bring in another player, pay a good bit of money for, then have to teach the whole thing to. That is why I believe they may go sign a vet to back up the players we have. I believe we have capable talent already on the team. We dont have a high pick to get a stud, nor do we have the funds available to pay a big time FA. Lets work with what we have, we may find a gem(pierce, marshall) I think McCune keeps coming up because of the talent that is on the table. He is exceptionally fast for a LB, has the size and strength, and is mature and has some brains. He was cut a couple of times because of numbers. they kept bringing him back so no one would sign him from the practice squad. for once, lets see what we have on the roster instead of bringing in new people. If you are going to spend some money, lets make the depth of our roster better.

honestly I'd def. take Fugita and possibly Barber over Witherspoon.

Robert McCune (http://www.redskins.com/team/profile.jsp?id=7023)
This guy is a monster. And he is fast 4.5 fast at the combine last year. He is a year younger than Lavar, and he is a former military guy.
He will know structure and follow orders from Gregg Williams a helluva lot better than Lavar ever did.
He played MLB in college, but with that speed he could be a good weekside guy.
I just dont think we have the cap this year to go after big names, even if we get the CBA extension all that restructuring doesnt happen. Remember we need some money to sign our draft picks, a #2 wide out, and some overall depth at positions such as OL, DL, and CB.
GO MCCUNE!!!

Except last year, when he switched to a 3-4 defense, please tell me in which league these are back-up caliber numbers? I want to recruit for the NFL from that league.
(Sorry, tables don't seem to paste well here.)
