But what you want to draft a lineman early with the other truly pressing needs we have? I'd love to have that luxury. Are you thinking with our 3rd round pick or our 2nd?

it really depends on what the choice is. if its C spencer, stovall or klopenstein with our #2, i'd take C spencer there. if pope falls, or D'q Jackson is there or one of the better corners, i'd probably wait. most of the good guards will be gone between the late 2nd and late 3rd though.

look, i mentioned the 40 time cause its relevent when we're talking about joe gibbs and pulling guards, i'm nto making a list and deciding talent on 40 times though :P

I'm not saying he needs to be replaced, but talent wise, he is NOT in the top 16 in the league at the LG position. You can tell by watching other teams and seeing how many times guys blow by their guards or how useful they are at getting downfield to block on running plays. Watching brian waters or hutchinson of KC and seattle. Very rarely do people get by them and get sacks/stuffs, and both are very good at running down and being invovled in plays beyond the line of scrimmage when running.

I hear what you are saying and said many of the same things about Chris Samuels after the 04 season! But I also saw great improvement in 05! Was he a pro bowler I don't know. If he was then LT spot in the NFC must be thin! One thing I did see from the line was that they work together much better and Thomas along with Jansen had very nice years. You also say Rabach was a big reason for all thier turn around in 05!!!

I'm comfortable with Doc's performance last year. Sure , he is slow, but he hasn't been injury prone and he doesn't seem to make any more mistakes than the rest of the guys. I thought he was excellent in pass pro. After seeing Raymer against the Seahwaks, they obviously need depth but I don't know if I would use the second pick. I suppose it would depend on who was available.

I base most of my opinions on Madden ps2. My computer progressed him to an 85 overall, and at what Im paying him, that's money.

But on a more serious note. He is a fat motherfr, and I love that in a guard. Just don't pull opposite him as much. Let Randy do the work with the "Rock"

yeah, they do work well together. The difference between raymer and rabach is CRAZY though. raymer was beyond terrible. he's a turnstile... and a weak one.

and doc is definately big. but even bigger and faster OGs are available this year, and would definately be worth at least considering if they're there during our pick. We need the depth if nothing else.

Dock gets a bad rap around here for some reason, while he still has room for improvement we certainly could be alot worse off.

Yes, he seemed pretty solid this past year. He got over his false start problem that plagued him for so long and even started pulling better. Being durable doesn't hurt either...

Dock gets a bad rap everywhere i go. They think he's a below average lineman. I think he's a solid player, and besides, he has started games for like 3 consecutive seasons for the skins. That's pretty durable.

I dont see why everyone thinks he's so bad. He's never missed a game and he has improved every year. He played pretty well last year and I would like to see someone find a better guard for the price too.

Didn't Buges ALLOW him to wear Jacoby's 66 and say that he has the potential to be the best lineman he ever coached. Joe sees something in the guy and thats enough for me.
