I think Ryan Clark does a damn fine job back there, and Sean Taylor loves him. When asked who his favorite pro. athelete was, he answered, Ryan Clark.

Practice what you preach fellas, continuity.

I'd much rather spend that money at a position of need.

I like Clark too, but he is a free agent and could be gone. He is saying some encouraging things though:

"I want to be here and the Redskins have let me know they want me back, but we have a lot of cap trouble," Clark said. "We have to figure out a way to make something work that's in both of our best interests. The money doesn't even have to be equal. It just has to be close to what someone else offers for me to stay." "I'm a realist," Clark said. "I understand my place in this league. Some people look at my size [officially 5-foot-11, 200] and think I don't belong. I fit this defense. I can't play three yards off the line everywhere. And I haven't forgotten that the Redskins gave me an opportunity when no one else would (after he was cut by the New York Giants in July 2004). I don't want to leave here for a few thousand dollars more and be unhappy. Whatever money I'll make will be more than I've ever earned in my life."

Of course, it could just be all talk. We'll see

OK people I'm sorry for being the 1 that get's you back to reallity, and I know how fun it's to dream of getting player to help you reach the next level. But C'mon really you're in Cap Hell you should be more focus on trying to keep the biggest amount of starters than talking about thinks that just won't happen not this year.

Even if the new CBA get sign and even with all the restructure contracts and LA cut you would still have to drop some players to get under the cap and your best scenario is being 3 or 4 under the cap that won't get you any High Price veteran.

No Abraham trade, No Archuleta, No Vinatieri, No Glover.... no player that's goign to ask for a more than a 1 mill signing bonus, Sorry not this year.

It's time to face the music if not CBA get sign and all looks like everyone is trying to sign 1 because of the second extention but with no real scenario you would be in deap poop, you might have to trade some of your 2006 draft pics for future 2007 because you won't have enough Cap space for your rookie pool.

So again sorry no high price FA this year damn that kind of FA pick up is the thing that got you in this trouble i nthe first place sorry.
Wrong.

With a new CBA the cap goes up for this year AND the 30% rule is gone AND the length of prorating bonuses goes back to a more manageable amount of time. Our cap numbers go down significantly in each of those cases.

The estimated cap would be between 105-108(I even saw a figure of 115 but that seems unrealistic to me). Our estimated cap number drops immediately to under 105 not counting the restructures. The restructures may be contingent upon having no new CBA but we dont yet whether that is the case or not. I would venture a guess that at least some of the restructures are binding in either case.

With all that we're talking about cutting guys who are going to be cut anyways to get room for FAs. Not worrying about keeping starters.

D'BOYZ, some of your points are close to the mark. Some of your others are wide.
#1 Are you privy to the terms of the renegotiated deals?
#2 Do you know players we need to cut to get under the cap?

I know you're a Cowboys fan so you salivate at the idea of us being in cap hell, but right now, don't listen to what other Cowboy fans and media-types have to say about our salary cap. You're a smart guy, you know that most media-types don't know squat. You people have been saying for years that we are going to be in cap hell and every year we prove you wrong.

I too thought we might be in cap hell this year. Fortunately, it appears as though I was wrong.

Well I don't know all the names of the player that would get cut, some I have read here, some in other trends some that I have read and all the rummor has placed are Patrick Ramsey (his realeas is based more if no CBA would get sign because if not he has some trade value), cornerback Walt Harris, safety Matt Bowen, center Cory Raymer, defensive tackle Brandon Noble, receiver James Thrash, kicker John Hall and punter Tom Tupa.

Now about the trade of Draft pics is a Scenario that some media guys have place in their colums including Peter King if no CBA get sign. this is base on your team being 20+ millions over the CAP right now and that your team can't restructure all the contracts.

Hey you have a limit on the things you can do see the Colts they tried changing Peyton and Harrison roster bonus in 2 signing bonus so the ycould get spread and the league didn't allow it.

LA saved you 4.2 mill, Brunel 1.3 I don't know how much Portis and Spings Saved, and how much the cuts above would save now there's no doubt that you will be under the cap. but you won0t have room to work to sign high price of middle price FA.

Even if the new CBA get sign it's not like you would have 10mill under the cap because some player that might get cut won't get cut and the restructure contracts of Brunell, Portis, Springs don't apply as we all have read if the CBA gets sign.

The difference is taht you keep the mayority of your veterans, and you're right the media has allways predicted that because of the High spending your team would be in cap hell, but this is the first year that you have heard and seen all this position am I wrong.

And with all the rules preventing signing bonus of more than 4 year with other things makes it hard for Snyder to take out the Rabitt out of the hat

Wrong.

Sorry but even if the CBA is sign the 30% rule won't be gone that it's placed to prevent teams to putting high amounts on players contracts that would lead to them being cut let's say Portis Signs a 120mill 5 year contract de first 4 years are 2 mill the last 1 is 112 mill that hurths the player because the don't ever see big salaries.

I don't know if yo uhave a story to backup the removal of the 30% if so please let me know

Noble didn't see the field last year.
Hall has been injured the past two seasons.
Raymer isn't exactly a gem.
Tupa was on IR last season.
Harris and Bowen are of very limited value to us.
Thrash is a good guy, but he's replaceable.

I don't see how those cuts are going to hurt us in 2006. They certainly didn't help us out in 2005 when we went 10-6.

Gibbs said if there is a CBA the Redskins will be better of and we will not be off so bad! Thanks for looking out for the redskins and us fans!

Him and Sean Taylor in the same backfield would put fear into any teams heart. Then if we made the trade for Abraham possibly keep Lavar.., thats a nasty Defense.

and we'll pay them with monopoly money cuz there is no way we are fitting those guys in the cap w/ still having any other players
