Here's the scenario:
You have replaced Jimmy Sexton as Patrick Ramsey's agent. The Redskins have been forced by circumstances to release your client.
You want to contact teams where he has a good chance of beating out the incumbents on a team that has most of the parts in place for a winning run.
If you can't find one like that, then do the best you can.
What teams do you contact?

It's your job as his agent to know the situations. The contract comes later.
I'd be pushing Patrick towards Miami. Saban seems to have a good plan in place, they have playmakers at WR and RB, if they just add some talent up front on the OL they'll be good to go.

I like Miami for Ramsey. I'd also take a strong look at Oakland with Porter, Moss, and LaMont Jordan.

According to the NJ Star Ledger, Pennington is staying with the Jets and they're expected to sign Kitna to back him up.

If Patrick thinks he has what it takes, he's not going to duck a fair head-to-head competition with anyone except a solidly entrenched QB.
I think you have to wait to see where D. Brees lands. If Miami signs him, then you have the San Diego situation to consider. They have a good situation also and Rivers is an untested QB at the NFL level. Brees is question mark also with his labrum surgery on an arm that was barely adequate in strength to begin with.
A one-year deal with either team could work out really well for patrick especially if we go into an uncapped 2007.

Whoever starts for the Jets will not be supported anyway. As Patrick's agent, I don't want him there.
