Haven't even ventured out to the theaters the past few weekends (considering the horrible releases the past month), but have been waiting to see this... DC is a very funny human being- highly suggested!!! excellent choice of music too.

I'm going to go see it soon. Does anyone know where exactly in D.C. he grew up and went to school?

Don't know where he grew up in DC. But he went to the Duke Ellington School of the Arts

this doesn't pertain to this movie, but today i saw Big Momma's House 2 and Final Destination 3. Both were good, but FD3 wasn't scary.

I had thought he was from D.C., too, but I read that he is a native of Cleveland:

Synopsis: Gondry follows the results of Dave chappelle throwing himself a racous block party in his native Cleveland. Doc features musical performances by Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Talib Kwali, Kanye West, The Roots, Common, Dead Prez, The Fugees.http://www.showbizdata.com/credits.cfm/241591/Dave_Chappelle's_Block_Party

Upon further research, it looks like he's from both:
Yellow Springs, a town approximately 75 miles outside of Cincinnati, is where Chappelle, a native of Washington, D.C., spent his early teens with his father, Williams, a music professor at Antioch College.http://www.blackamericaweb.com/site.aspx/bawnews/chappelle206

Yeah his parents got divorced when he was young so he'd spend the school year with his mom in DC, and summers with his dad in Ohio.

Anyone see that 2 hour inside the actor's studio episode with him? It was pretty interesting stuff.

He came off as really intelligent to me. His thoughts on the press labeling celebs 'crazy' based on their actions was great.
