I ran across this...again the other day. These guys are sort of a Punky Irish....maybe Scottish band. Cool song about WW1 The Green Fields Of France (or) Willie McBride-The Dropkick Murphys - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UvQ52A7ksM) mlmdub130 08-12-2011, 09:35 AM A little change of pace. I ran across this...again the other day. These guys are sort of a Punky Irish....maybe Scottish band. Cool song about WW1 The Green Fields Of France (or) Willie McBride-The Dropkick Murphys - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UvQ52A7ksM) dropkicks have some pretty good tunes your should check em out, i'm sure you've heard this one a few times(departed) just might not have known who it was I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys - YouTube RedskinRat 08-12-2011, 09:42 AM dropkicks have some pretty good tunes your should check em out, i'm sure you've heard this one a few times(departed) just might not have known who it was I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-64CaD8GXw) Saw them at Hootenanny in OC this July, they were excellent. Currently clearing my sinuses with Red Devil Squadron - My Son Is A Dope Addict, the ideal way to wake up. Make sure the speakers are set to 11. MTK 08-12-2011, 09:42 AM Dropkicks are quality mooby 08-12-2011, 12:11 PM @mlmdub: Yeah that dropkick song is probably the most well known. I've heard a couple of their songs too, they're not half bad. Chico23231 08-12-2011, 12:20 PM "Your Time Is Gonna Come" - Zeppelin Im a fool for an organ appaerance on rock/blues tracks. John Paul Jones out does himself laying down a thick groove on this track Dirtbag59 08-12-2011, 12:53 PM Never understood why The Gauntlet never caught on as a "pump up" song after Shipping up to Boston got big, but I get to be ultra cool and say I've been listening to them since they were semi-big (ie 2000). Two of my favorites zY-NSF0Boyo3CG-92Rz2os Also if you enjoy Dropkick Murphys, particularly the Irish themed punk music, I recommend Flogging Molly. Drunken Lullabies (http://youtu.be/H8Zs1xfxaq4) and Devil Dance Floor (http://youtu.be/TSwaVvF7rdU) are two good places to start. Of course if your SUPER COOL like me then you've already heard Flogging Molly, but I don't like listen to them anymore since they like you know like hit the mainstream. I like to keep my music limited collection limited to like sucky bands no one heard of. Ironically if I had never downloaded Napster in High School I would have never hard of Dropkick Murphys or Floggling Molly. MTK 08-12-2011, 01:01 PM Another cool Irish rock band worth checking out is Black 47. |
