Cayenne, Central Line, Level 42? dmek25 02-01-2012, 10:41 PM central line...walking into sunshine? the others? DynamiteRave 02-01-2012, 10:52 PM I just picked up the Born to Die CD by Lana Del Rey and despite her poor Saturday Night Live performance, I think the CD is a brilliant work of a new artist. Yeah she's kinda got the jazzy lounge singer feel with a touch of hip hop seeing as a lot of her songs were arranged by hip hop producers and the songs are really a lot of bad boy meets girl/bad boy leaves girl or vice versa, I think it's lyrically pretty amazing, especially considering the amount of vapid crap out of the market today. I feel awful because the music critics have really lukewarm if not totally trashed the CD and I feel like a lot of it came from her strange SNL performance and people trying to figure out if shes a Lady Gaga clone in a different genre of music. As someone who really enjoyed Amy Winehouse (and no, Del Rey isn't as good as Winehouse) and enjoyed that jazzy lounge feel, I really can't help but defend the girl and hope she does well in her music career, if hopefully it lasts that long. EARTHQUAKE2689 02-01-2012, 11:40 PM Been listening to a lot of ABBA. itvnetop 02-01-2012, 11:45 PM MV_3Dpw-BRY&ob=av3e Drive Soundtrack. Normally wouldn't peep music like this, but for some reason- the movie makes it work. RedskinRat 02-02-2012, 10:03 AM central line...walking into sunshine? the others? Cayenne (http://www.myspace.com/cayennelondon) Level 42 did a few good tracks back the days of Jazz-Funk in the UK, very big for about two minutes. Level 42 (http://www.level42.com/) 'Something About You' was a big hit. Alvin Walton 02-02-2012, 10:23 AM Been listening to a lot of ABBA. Hmmmm....not sure if serious. RedskinRat 02-02-2012, 10:50 AM Hmmmm....not sure if serious. Can only hope not. EARTHQUAKE2689 02-02-2012, 02:35 PM Hmmmm....not sure if serious. Dead serious. What's wrong with ABBA? 2nd highest selling band of all-time. |
