Does anyone use FLTVO?

YouTube to MP3 - Convert YouTube videos to MP3 (http://www.flvto.com/)

You can use it to get mp3's (or other formats) of a song you like from youtube. Apperently it is completely 100% legal. Ive only used it once (to get Brooks and Dunn, Cowgirl Dont Cry) and it seemed to work really well.

Anyone know if its really legal? Or if there are any drawbacks?

Program is legal.
Not sure about the downloading.

But you won't get caught anyway, the uploader would.

But even so, MP3s are not the same quality as the real deal audio, especially if the bitrate is below 160Kbps.

if you can listen to it, it's already downloaded (into ram). that's just like a stream ripper, it's like hitting record then listening.

I mean, if you have mozilla, you can have a little save mp4 link on every youtube page by default, no program required.

Ive looked around and i think its legal, but i dont really understand why.....

I guess the thought is that you are using songs from youtube which the record company provided or effectively provides by not shutting down videos individual's uploaded. As long as you dont sell it or purposely give it to others i think youre susposed to be good.

Im pretty sure recording a song from the radio is perfectly legal, but selling a mix tape you made from recordings is illegal. This is supposedly the same deal.

And SCP, thanks, i forgot that MP3s come in differnt quality. I got no idea what the quality is you get from fltvo. At best its probably whatever the quality of the mp3 is that the user uploaded or youtube allowed.

Everytime I hear that song I think of my old buddy Jimmy Norris. He could sing the hell out of that song and our band did what I think was one of the better versions of the song.
