Ramsey is not worth a 3rd in a year where there is suddenly a surplus of available starting QB's on the market. This is horrible timing for the redskins. How can they expect a 3rd for Ramsey when Brees, Kitna & Griese are available for nothing and Culpepper & Simms could be available in trade.
The best opportunity for the skins to get value is to drag it out and see who still needs a QB after the bigger names have settled. Waiting depends on the cap situation though....they may not have that luxury.

The Redskins have no one to blame but themselves for Ramsey not having any trade value. If we didn't spend the last 2 years trashing him and labeling him a turnover machine then maybe we could get some real compensation for him. I say take whatever we can get and move on. I think it's clear that the Jason Campbell era absolutely has to start sooner than later. Be it at some point this year or next he needs to get on the field. You don't use a first on a guy and have him sit forever. I say make the deal and let Ramsey get a fresh start where maybe the coaches want him.

There are seven or eight teams badly in need of QB help. To garner a three, it only takes a couple of GMs with a higher opinion on Ramsey than yours (which obviously isn't high given that list of damaged goods and marginally competant list of "starting QBs" you offered).

celts32,of all the qbs you have named, who holds any value?culpepper and brees are injured(both pretty severely)kitna and griese are both HORRIBLE and simms is a rfa that will probably have his contract extended.would you want any of these guys as a starter here in washington?

A sixth round pick is a joke for a 1st round pick with NFL playing experience. Keep him on the roster for as long as possible and let the other teams who need QB's sweat it out. If the CBA goes thru this week, we will not be in as dire a cap situation as many think. If we get a measley 6th rounder and PR goes on the succeed for another team, we are gonna be steamed. PATIENCE!!!
What is a joke is the way people bitch and moan about Ramsey and how he always throws picks, he isn't going to lead us to the big game, he cant win against good teams, holds the ball to long, doesn't throw it away enough blah, blah blah. Then when we go and trade him or attempt to, those same people say hes worth a 2nd through 4th round pick. come on people. we are lucky to get a 6th rounder, especially for a player going into his 5th season and has statistically played 1 full season. 10-14 as a starter, around 50% or so completion percentage and around 70 QB rating. What makes you think he is worth more than a sixth, because we drafted him in the first, so what. What did san diego get when they traded leaf to the cowboys. I doubt it was anything about a 4th.

Lets not talk about Ramsey's value, so much as who you replace him with. Let's say we go into next year with Brunell as the starter and Campbell as the backup. Now you need a very cheap emergency 3rd QB guy. Ramsey has got to be better than any other 3rd guy we could find. The question is more what do the Skins want to pay for a 3rd QB guy. $1.6 million seems a little much to me. But it is dirt cheap if Brunell gets hurt for the season or something and we are left with a 2nd year guy who has not seen the field yet and a backup with experience, AKA Ramsey.

55.7% is much higher than 50%, and his TD-INT ratio is good (above 1), 10-14 on bad teams isn't terrible either and his qb rating is 75. just so the stats are right.

ingel martin should be available late in the draft and cheap... total question mark and probably not as good in 2006 as a guy with actual experience, but if we're only getting a 6th and have no cap room, its either him or try to get timmy back.

You must be talking about the fans trashing him because I've never heard anyone in the organization trash him. Gibbs has always supported him publicly.
