Young could have gotten a negative wonderlic score and NFL teams still wouldn't be able to get what he did against USC outta their minds.

I'm sure you're right - I think that article said the only number the teams care about is 41-38. Still, the 38% average is kind of shocking. It really shouldn't be (shocking, that is), given how little these guys are forced to do academically. hail_2_da_skins 02-27-2006, 12:39 PM That would be a great move for the Texans. They don't need Reggie Bush. Their best player is RB Dominack Davis. I'm not sold on Bush being a every down back. He is too little. He is small like Warrick Dunn. Whoever gets him, it will be a mistake. The Texans need offensive line and defensive line help. David Carr is not bad if he can stay off his back. They have good receivers (Andre Johnson, Corey Bradford and Jabar Gaffney). The Texans gave up more sacks than anyone. They need to draft linemen. 12thMan 02-27-2006, 12:43 PM That would be a great move for the Texans. They don't need Reggie Bush. Their best player is RB Dominack Davis. Well, the Texans need many things. Bush may not be the fit for them, but I definitely think he'll be an impact player somewhere. #56fanatic 02-27-2006, 01:07 PM It may be a good idea to move away from the number one pick. But, if they could package Davis and some picks to get a couple first rounders it would be a very productive draft. I dont think you can pass on Bush. He is an unbelievable talent, size or not. He will bulk up on an NFL regament, plus you can not teach speed and quickness, and vision. he has them all. I have never seen a player come out of college with the talent this guy has. He can run, he can catch like a receiver and has the escape ability of no one I have ever seen, maybe a Barry Sanders, but has twice the speed. It would be a mistake to pass on him. On the Vince Young thing, I dont care what kind of talent you have a QB, if you cant read a defense, or pick up the plays you will not succeed in the NFL. Look at Vick, he went to college on athletism and he is below avg QB in the NFL. Heath Shuler was suppose to be next best thing until everyone found out he was a stupid as the goal post. Leinert may be the #1 QB taken, but I am not sold on his arm, he just doesn't seem to have the arm strength needed to complete tight balls in the NFL. I think Cutler might be the best overall QB coming out of the draft. Has the brains and a GUN for an arm. just my thoughts. After reading this article (http://espn.go.com/page2/s/closer/020228.html) BSB posted in another thread, the averages aren't as bad as I had thought. #56fanatic 02-27-2006, 01:33 PM i doubt bush is faster than sanders, at least in comparision to the competition he'll face. culter has an arm, but he makes bad decisions. brees and brady have weak arms and they're doing fine in the nfl, so i don't think leinhart is going to fail based on his arm. jeff george and ramsey also both had guns for arms ;) No way in hell Barry Sanders wasn't even close in the speed catagory with Bush. that is crazy talk. Bush runs like a low 4.2 40, Berry at his best may have been mid 4.3s. Where do you see Breeze and Brady as having weak arms? Brady can rifle the ball with the best of them, Breeze I really can't say, haven't seen enough of them. Dont even bring George in the picture, we all know what his problems were, Talent not one of them. Ramsey never had a true shot with a real NFL coach. and dont say Gibbs gave him one, because he didn't. Bush has a 4.40 to 4.42 40 time, and that's a far cry from a 4.2. Brees and Brady's arm are around the strength of leinhart's, they were both knocked for that, but it hasn't seemed to hurt them. offiss 02-27-2006, 02:55 PM hi, before spewing crap, please check facts. Don't know were those times came from, but just watching the guy run I would be absolutly shocked if he wasen't in the low 4.3 range at least. And yes Bush is much faster straight line speed than B. Sanders Sanders ability to cut is what set him apart from the rest, he wasen't a slow back by no means, but he didn't have elite speed like Bush either, Bush has Gale Sayers type ability. |
