I wanna know how many times a Redskin should have to restructure his contract? wtf? Why do they even give them out if they have no intention of living up to them...ever?!
they still pay them all the money in a restructure but they just get it at a later time

The only part they end up getting is the signing bonus, unless they stay for the entire lenght of the contract. Which with any player who is half way decent they never get the back end of the deal, that why they restructure it because by the time they get to back end, it cost to much to keep them. so its either restructure, or SEE YA, DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YA WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA

That's the name of the game in today's NFL.
Show me one team that actually pays out the full terms of a contract with no restructures.
I already said that in my first post on this topic.

They usually get cut before they see that money.

I didn't care at all when Thrash left becaue he had half of a decent season. And I know I wasn't a member of this site, if it existed, when Trent Green left. Anyway, what about Stephen Davis or Champ or the way a lot of fans were on board with Brad Johson getting pushed out the door? What about all the negativity toward Smoot and Pierce? It started to happen last offseason before Samuels got his new deal. That's pretty much where LaVar is right now. All of a sudden he sucks because he makes a lot of money and if he doesn't restructure than he's not a team player. That's pretty retarded.
Did you miss the point? The point was that players who are wrapped up in the money (i.e. 6.5 million) are not going to stay on the fans top priority list... just like Smoot, Pierce, Champ. If you leave for or complain about money, expect the cold shoulder from the fan base. The players that are just playing as hard as they can will get more support.
You can call Dan Snyder a lot of things, but tight-wad isn't one of them.
Lavar doesn't suck. In fact, I think he may be ready to have his best season if he stays.
For a lot of fans, the real question is can we afford him at his salary, at the expense of the team as a whole, when we know the defense can excel without him.

Maybe Snyder can have all the players re-sign for the veteran minimum and then make it up by paying them 10 million to appear on his media shows during the season. Is there any rule against that?

I think LaVar will be willing to restructure, however, that doesn't mean he'll stay a Redskin past next season. Just like Stephen Davis. LaVar dropped his grievance, so I don't think that he's necessarily "wrapped up in the money."
I did, however, miss the point of your first post.

no, the player gets it immediately, the team is just allowed to pro rate it over the rest of the length of the contract for cap purposes.
