John Clayton, when asked if lavar would be a cap casualty, said that we were trying to trade lavar and that he would probably not get the roster bonus he is due...bad news if u ask me
John Clayton on LaVar Arrington 2/20/06Big C 02-20-2006, 07:31 PM John Clayton, when asked if lavar would be a cap casualty, said that we were trying to trade lavar and that he would probably not get the roster bonus he is due...bad news if u ask me saskin 02-20-2006, 08:07 PM I wanna see Lavar here....but that salary is huge and we need to cut cap room. PSUskinsfan11 02-20-2006, 08:31 PM I thought there was a rumor that he was actually going to restructure? If it's true that they are trying to trade him I am going be real pissed. That Guy 02-20-2006, 08:51 PM he might only be willing to restructure a mill instead of whats needed. if he' not cut, than that 6.5mill compound an already insane contract that's going to have to be dealt with sooner or later (he stays and we get an awful cap problem next year too). dmek25 02-20-2006, 08:54 PM his contract needs to be dealt with, for once and for all.either restructure so everyone can live with it,or cut him loose.i want him to stay but not at the price of destroying the cap situation of the redskins mooby 02-20-2006, 10:28 PM i hope this isn't true, i still think lavar can get back to top form again. Hopefully he restructures so we can clear up some cap room. Schneed10 02-20-2006, 10:38 PM I want him traded. saden1 02-20-2006, 11:04 PM Trying to trade him? That doesn't make sense. Any team that is willing to trade for him will want to restructure his current contract, preferably in a sign and trade deal, but if LaVar is not willing to restructure to stay here why would he be willing to for another team? Especially since he can have himself cut by the Skins and enter free agency and choose his own team. If this trade thing is true then the relationship between the Skins and LaVar is beyond repair and he'll do whatever it takes to get the hell out of DC or the Skins management must subscribe to the "you can find a sucker" theory. wilsowilso 02-20-2006, 11:20 PM Seems like we just have to come to terms with the fact that LaVar is not going to remain a Redskin and we probably won't be getting jack for him. If someone can explain to me how we could possibly afford that mega-cap hit if we trade him then I guess I'm hoping for good value. I'm all for keeping him, but I would be shocked if that happens. By the way if they do release him and he signs with a team from the NFC East that would officially be the perfect nightmare ending to this mess. mooby 02-21-2006, 12:35 AM he's also said if the redskins cut or trade him he would consider retiring, because he doesn't want to play for another team. I don't think we will see him traded to an NFC East team, or going there if he got cut. And besides, if we wanted to cut or trade lavar, we'd have to get rid of 32 million on our cap. I don't think that would happen. |
