That Guy 02-16-2006, 04:57 AM A lot of people are questioning why the Browns are letting him go. Here are a couple reasons: Kellen Winslow will be back and Braylon Edwards is there main threat. He wasn't going to be to much of a factor in there offense or lack there of. No sense in paying a guy a lot of money who isn't going to get that many balls thrown his way. Just a couple things to think about, just don't go jumping the gun assuming hes a cancer and thats why there letting him go.
um, there's 2 starting receiver spots, not one ;) it works fine in STL, ARI, IND, OAK, and gives you depth in case of injury. If he's leaving because he wants peyton money than i definately don't want to be the guy signing him for it.
You don't let a "young stud" go just because you have two relatively unproven guys coming back to the lineup, sorry not buying that.
I can't believe we have a 5 page thread going about Antonio Bryant. It must be the offseason.

We let a "young stud" go last year in pierce. Bryant could possibly be the same situation for the Browns

I would hardly put Bryant in the class of "young stud". 1 year, come on people, 1 year of ok play. Peerless price had one year, and everyone thought he was the next big thing, is he even playing in the NFL? Pierce is another one hard to put into that catagory. He had one good year, he was on his way to another one, but is her Urlacher, tupu, quality, or even top 15 in the NFL. doubt it. There was a reason we didn't give him all the money he wanted. There wasn't alot of difference in his abilities compared to Marshall. I also believe they had plans for McCune, who is going to get alot of looks this coming camp and preseason.

pierce isn't a physical monster, but he knows how to ue what he has. We let him go becausse marshall could do the same thing for a lot less money and mccune IS a beast if he can learn the position. Pierce is a good player though and he'll be a starter for years (and NY REALLY needed him). I do think he's even with tupu, though not guys like Ur etc. I don't think the browns have a plan B guy ready to go though... you can't start more than one MLB in a 4-3, but you can always use 2-3 good WRs, so its a different situation.

"young stud" is in quotes for a reason.
Judging by this thread some people seem to think he'd fall into that category, I was simply stating if he was such a "young stud" why would the Browns be letting him walk so easily when they don't have many other proven playmakers?
SanFranSkinsFan 02-18-2006, 05:30 AM Heres a possible #2 guy that I haven't heard a lot about on the forum. He had 69 catches for over a 1000 yards with Dilfer and Frye throwing to him and apparently the Browns don't want to pay him big money (which from now on should be Synders nickname). Remember a few years ago he was going to be the Cowboys next big thing at Wide out. With that said I'm pretty sure he would relish the oppurtunity to play the Cowboys twice a year (especially since he had a fallout with Bill Parcells). Plus the DC area is kinda close to Pittsburgh where he played college ball. Is this our guy or what? Oh yeah did I mention the guys 6'2?
Antonio Bryant is an interesting prospect considering Dilfer was his QB last year. What if Norv had has his way and drafted Dilfer instead of Heath Shuler? Oh, yeah, about Bryant, he would be a nice addition if Gibbs thought he wouldn't be a problem. I think all WRs are a little quirky and a fight with Parcells isn't going to keep him off my team. He has good size and speed and would fit nicely with Patten in 3 WR set. He has been way more productive than Koren Robinson and Randel El with a lesser QB tossing the ball. If he wants to be a Redskin, sign me up.
diehardskin2982 02-22-2006, 02:51 PM Read This interview with Bryant and then tell me what you guys think....

TheMalcolmConnection 02-22-2006, 03:01 PM If that interview isn't just to drive up his asking price, I would seriously think that he's matured significantly since the last time we heard from him.
TheMalcolmConnection 02-22-2006, 03:02 PM Good article. Good find.
