Doesn't look good for our chances to get a high pick for Ramsey if someone like Ray Lewis isn't drawing more interest than just a 2nd rounder.
that has always been a negative about trading ramsey... but, qb's usually have more value in the end than lb's so i would not overestimate lewis's value.
plus, he has taken a lot of hits over a career.

i dont want him...hes overrated and will cost way too much
marshall is a good mlb, we dont need him anyway
maybe we'll get lucky with trading ramsey if a team is desperate
agrreed. why potentially weaken 2 positions by moving marshall. there is no guarantee he would play better onthe weakside now

Ramsey may not reach his prime, or he is past his prime-which didnt last long.
disagree. i think ramsey needs a change of scenery and a coaching staff that truly believes inhim.
looks like it won't be in arizona after the extension warner signed.
miami ? new orleans ? new york ???

Wow, what's really interesting about that is I was just telling my brother the other day that there have been a lot of NFL scouts on the Tulane Campus this week. Tulane only really has one guy that I could see garnering this kind of attention and his name is Anthony Cannon. He's a MLB. The teams that I've seen are the: Ravens, Colts, Jags and Cowboys.
I thought it was very strange that the Ravens would be here considering they have Lewis, but I figured maybe it was cause he's on the downside of the hill and they wanted a long term solution.
i think lewis is going to become a role player instead of 3 down player.

age and contracts r a big reason he probably isn't garnering much in trade talks and he's also coming off a somewhat serious injury after a pretty down year. and history has shown that the position most teams r willing to take a chance by giving up something maybe a little higher in value than they should is QB. I mean look at the Dolphins and AJ Feely :hitfan:
it's too bad the team didn't get rid of Ramsey when we still could have easily gotten a 1st rounder for him since the last 2 years his trade value has dramatically dropped.
nobody has ever offered the skins that high a pick fromthe beginning. eventhe bears weren't offering it when he wasn't signed early after drafting him.

I wouldn't write off Lewis just yet, he was injured last year but the year before he had 146 tackles.
I think he's still got a few good years left, but you can't blame the Ravens for looking to get out from under his contract.
the contract is the key. he either reduces and redoes it or i think he will be gone fromthe ravens

Of course, age and contract have everything to do with that. Ramsey is a heck of a lot younger than Ray. Of course, Ramsey is not even close to the level Ray Lewis is.
I still say 4th rounder sounds right for Ramsey, 3rd if we're fortunate.
you are probably right. might be some playing time clauses however.

I don't think Ramsey would represent an especially bad bust. Feature these Redskins firts rounders:
Heath Schuler 1994 QB Tenessee
Andre Johnson 1996 T Penn State
I'm giving passes to Desmond Howard and Bobby Wilson based on their SB rings. They, like Ramsey, were mere disappointments.
I'm also betting that 12th overall pick:
Yazoo Smith 1968 DB Oregon or 4th overall pick
Richie Lucas 1960 QB Penn State
didn't exactly set the world on fire, but that was before I was born. Maybe some veteran fans will remember them.
yazoo was tragic. he would have been great had he not been injured.
add kent mcloughan or eugene epps to that list because they ended up signing with afl teams and the skins got zero for the picks

lucas was a bust, totally... as was gary beban, a heisman winner.. or cotton speyrer, whom george allen never even wanted near the field...
that is why we were always looking up at the cowboys. brandt drafted rings around the skins

70 Chip:
I tried to limit the damage by saying one of the worst picks in the last 25 tears. Gary Beban was another Skins first rund pick who stunk and dont even talk bout Ray Macdonald (was that his name?) the 250 lb fullback from Montana or Idaho back in the mid-60s. He was as useless as a chocolate teapot.
If we have seen the best of Partick Ramsey, then he was as useless as Heath Shuler. Neither of them was worth a bucket of warm spit. Now if Ramsey has more to show...
macdonald actually lead the nation in rushing as a senior but NOBODY actually checked him out personally. he had 1 leg that was shorter than the other and played at a smaller school. he was also openly one of the first gay players and that did not go over too well with the vets..
he had a few terrific games inhis first year but that was it for him
