I have heard some whispers, but no articles or news stories that the Redskins may seek to build a new 100,000 seat football only stadium at RFK after the Nationals leave for their new stadium in 08.

Again, I have neither seen nor read any news stories nor articles related to this subject, I have only heard rumors concerning the subject so I don't know how true it is.

Are there any thoughts from anyone concerning such a potential scenario?

I for one have very mixed feelings if this ever happens.

FedEx is just starting to finally gain slowly but surely that homefield advantage that has been badly missed since the days of RFK.

FedEx while not the fanciest and best located of football stadiums is modern, newer and in terms of capacity, luxury seats and club level attractions will allow the SKINs to financially top all teams in revenue for a long time to come. Why leave?

But if we know the Dan, he has high asperations. He seems like the type of guy that would want his own legacy and his own playpin, especially with the other area franchises either downtown (Wiz, CAPS) or heading downtown (NATS). He's going to want a piece of the action.

Once RFK is left, it will be interesting to see what happens.

I can't see that happening with the relative "newness" of FedEx.

Highly unlikely if you ask me.

Yeah, I do not think that will happen either, hell the stadium was only built like 8 or 10 years ago!!! I sure hope stadiums get more than 10 years of use out of them because if they dont I am officially starting my very own Stadium building business!!!

If anybody can afford it it's Snyder. I've always wondered what a Snyder built stadium would look like. One could only hope that he would avoid those obstructed view seats.:)

I think without a doubt this rumor could be true. It's no secret that Snyder has been pissed about getting rejected for the Super Bowl because FedEx doesnt have a dome. Not only that it brings football back to "Washington" if you will.

I could totally see this, granted I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if it's fake.

I would like this scenario if nothing else because it would probably bump up a lot of us who are currently pretty deep on the season tix waiting list. How about it Danny-Boy?

Yea right! And what will they do? Just sell Fed Ex to a Soccer team? The Redskins own all that property in Landover. They get all the parking $$ on top of the ticket & concession sales. Why would they go and lease the property RFK sits on? So the could share that $$ with somone else? Just look at the pic above, and tell me that's not a cash cow. It would be cool to have the Redskins back in "D.C." But It won't happen.

Nice pic Malcolm :goodjob:
