I was hoping that someone had a link or something that had the singing of the National Anthem at yesterdays SB. My wife just can't believe me on how bad it was and I wanted her to see for herself. Thanks for any help.

It was undoubtedly the worst performance of the National Anthem I have ever heard. It was honestly embarassing. Both Neville and Aretha can sing but what they did to that song was just plain bad. To mention it positively in the same breath as Whitney Houston's SB rendition is about as blasphemous as one can get about such a subject. CRT3 02-06-2006, 10:03 PM Don't even look for it, you will cringe. Oakland Red 02-06-2006, 10:27 PM When we saw that National Anthem, we couldn't believe how good it was. To me, it was the most melodious and creative rendition I have ever seen. Usually it is sung without passion or depth, and in the same general, mediocre way. Aretha Franklin and John Neville with Dr John I think are to be commended for daring to try something new, and to pull it off in a superb way. steveo395 02-06-2006, 10:27 PM When i first saw this thread i thought you were gonna say how good you thought it was...i was about to kill somebody. This was one of the worst national anthems i've ever heard. It didn't sound anything like it at all. If anybody thinks that was good, they are retarded. It was almost as bad as when that girl forgot the words to the national anthem before some basketball game (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/nationalanthem.html) SmootSmack 02-06-2006, 11:02 PM Watch At Your Own Risk (http://youtube.com/w/Aretha-Franklin-Superbowl-2006?v=ybqCoz0AqdE&search=aretha) htownskinfan 02-06-2006, 11:28 PM Watch At Your Own Risk (http://youtube.com/w/Aretha-Franklin-Superbowl-2006?v=ybqCoz0AqdE&search=aretha) now I'm totally confused,i heard Jim Rome talk about it today and he played what sounded like neville singing the natl anthem, but he sang it the whole way through and it wasnt the version in that video,it was a lot worse,so i dont know what version Rome was playing Daseal 02-07-2006, 12:06 AM When i first saw this thread i thought you were gonna say how good you thought it was...i was about to kill somebody. It was almost as bad as when that girl forgot the words to the national anthem before some basketball game There's a big difference between a little girl that's probably terrified to be in such a large arena with so many people starring at her and a professional singer. What Mo Cheeks (I think!) did was one of the best things Ive seen a pro-sports coach do. Made one of that girls worst days much much better. |
