It was awful grim, the music was awful, looked like they had pre-recorded crap and were lip synching over it, the sound sounded just bad (prolly ford field, not built for that), all in all just sad. I would have much rather seen a tit.

hey, i wasn't much for the halftime show; but what about that PRE-GAME one. I thought that was great with Stevie Wonder, India Arie, John Legend. They should have chosen someone more motown since it was in Detroit for the Half time show.

I didnt see the pre-game this year, but a majority of the time they do seem to be better. I agree, as Wilbon said, Smokey Robinson is playing in Detroit a day before the super bowl, get him.
Like when Bono (Irish) after Septemeber 11th revealed the American flag inside his jacket, something just didn't seem right.
The sound was horrible for the Stones, they definitely were singing and playing though, so I can at least respect that over previous acts they've had.

The sound was bad and the band was just as bad. I thought the Stone's would have done a better job than what they did. I have worked sound before and it is tough to roll out a band and just kick it on as they have to do with that kind of show. When the sound is set the stadium is empty and gives totaly different sound than when it is full. You think they could find an American band.

The Stones are about 100 years old, so I wasn't expecting much from them. I wonder if there are bets on which dinosaur they'll resurrect for next year's halftime show? I also thought the National Anthem was horrible as well.

Do you also complain when Paul McCartney does the half time SB show? Nationality doesn't matter - though sensitivity towards the genre of music that origniated in Detroit does. Joss Stone, who also sang yesterday in pre-game is British as well.
I'm a big Rolling Stones fan, and have seen them in concert about 10 times, but I'm also absolutely in agreement that there was no need for the league to bring the Stones in given that the game was being played in Motown. Huge snub to the motown legends.
I have been patiently waiting for this thread to be spawned! I saw more career destruction yesterday than the back street boys, when the dvd player went down. it made the Watergate Seven look like a success story! Ohhhhhhhhhh, the humanity of it all. It was the musical Hindenburg (actually the Hindenjburg was more humane). What THE HELL WAS THAT...............THING they iterated b4 the game. It could NOT have been the national anthem? It made Rosanne look like a Patriot. Is there any doubt that, ANY DOUBT, it is WAY past time for Mick and the boys to hang up their stilletto heals and call it a career? I shudder to think what it will cost in psychiatric fee's to get this outta' my head!

I like the stones but that show was terrible. All the songs sounded the same.

I thought the national anthem was very very bad. Just sing it how it was ment to be sang. Halftime just as bad. Bring back the tit.
