The RSs were aweful. Worst halftime show ever. I don't know how it could be any worse.

definitely not the best performance by the rolling stones. They should just retire, they are getting too old for this.

Just sing it how it was ment to be sang.
Exactly, I hate how people are determined to put their own flair on something and end up ruining it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the Stones suck! I've seen Stones concerts in the past and they never sounded as bad. They look like a retirement band and sounded like a New Orleans funeral band.

Do you also complain when Paul McCartney does the half time SB show? Nationality doesn't matter - though sensitivity towards the genre of music that origniated in Detroit does. Joss Stone, who also sang yesterday in pre-game is British as well.

I'm a big Rolling Stones fan, and have seen them in concert about 10 times, but I'm also absolutely in agreement that there was no need for the league to bring the Stones in given that the game was being played in Motown. Huge snub to the motown legends.I could have worded it a little better. I thought they should have had a Motown band or a Motown theme. Paul McCartney was great a few years back. I would like to see them have a couple of top College Bands play it would be a nice change. Thats college marching bands.

The whole Superbowl hoopla lasts too long. The halftime, more like a liftetime. The commercials are overhyped. Everything is way over the top. The game seems meaningless. It can't live up to the hype.

hey, i wasn't much for the halftime show; but what about that PRE-GAME one. I thought that was great with Stevie Wonder, India Arie, John Legend. They should have chosen someone more motown since it was in Detroit for the Half time show.

i thought they all sounded awful. AF was the only one that was halfway decent.

The problem with the motown thing is a lot of the really really popular original artist are either ancient or dead now.

Besides, McCartney has done some work with MoTown artists in the past. So maybe he's not entirely seen as someone from "over there", if you will.

I will say the National Anthem was atrocious. I couldn't believe it. The year the Whitney Houston did the National Anthem was the best!

the britney spears/nsync/aerosmith(I think)/and nelly(I think) goes down as the worst HT show as I can't even remember everyone involved cuz I've tried to block it from my mind. the stones were absolutely pathetic though and I made use of the second half of their performance to make a bathroom run. I liked parts of the pregame show, but I couldn't hear what Stevie was singing half the time and the National Anthem has become painful to listen to. I like the idea of school marching bands and I'd like to see the National Anthem done by professional singers like broadway performers or people with a voice like the guy who does the NA for the NY Yankees. the last few National anthems performers that I really enjoyed were Ray Charles, Boyz 2 Men, and Whitney Houston.
