the gameplan obviously wasn't that great if it required throwing to a guy with teflon hands 30 times a night.

and where was his great gameplan in the last 2min of each half? he's the head coach he's who told or allowed his qb to audible when he wanted to.

stevens was good all year who new he was going to play so bad

everyone needs to get off this last 2 minutes crap, holmgren did nothing wrong. he was letting his players play. qbs audible all the time, what, you think he supposed to look over at holmgren and say "please coach , can i audible ? please, pretty please. can i" ?

i'm not really sure what your problem is, but I think all this crackpot conspiracy stuff is a little over the top and that statement up there is highly ironic.

i have no problem, i never said this game was fixed but what i did say was that i would not be surprised if one day we find out that it was. what i also said is that it surely looked as though it was fixed. worse, most one sided officiating i have ever seen. thats my opinion, you don't like it, oh well.

Personally I think that game raised a lot of eyebrows of suspicion about the legitamcy of the game.

it did with me as well. i'm pretty sure other sports have had fixed games or events ( example- dale jr. winning that race after his fathers death ). i never thought football games were fixed and i'm still not convinced they are but that superbowl was definately fishy.

he played pretty poorly this year (though better than his other years). lots of balls thrown his way, LOTS of drops. he can't block, and he's very average at his strength.

he had been playing good in the playoffs. if the steelers were taking jackson out of the game but leaving stevens open, then i can't fault holmgren or hasselback for trying to get the ball to the open guy.

So, your argument for Holmgren coaching a perfect game is "Don't talk about things he screwed up"? If the team can't perform even remotely functionally in the 2 minute offense, that is on the coach.

Holmgren did a good job in the first 28 minutes. The last 32 are another story entirely.

did i ever say he coached a perfect game ? i don't think i ever said that. what i did say was that holmgren had a good gameplan that was screwed up by bad officiating and poor play from his TE.
in my opinion, holmgren made two mistakes that really stood out to me,
1- i did not like that he called a running play at the end of the 1st half with little time left on the clock. (this was the play right before the one were hasselback kept trying to audible and as a result wasted a ton of time)
2- i did not like holmgrens decision to punt the ball back to the steelers with around 6 minutes left in the game.

other than that, i don't recall any real bad decisions by holmgren. maybe there are a few i forgot, can you point out any others ?

My apologies - somehow I missed your earlier clarifications. I was mistaken in what you said about the 58-59 minute thing.

I'm not conceding the point, of course! ;)

As each day passes, though, I forget more and more about a game that I really didn't care about to begin with. So, I'll end it with:
