Redskins.com apparently thinks the FO is in love with the players at the Senior Bowl. Will we see any in the B&G this summer?

Thanks to the moderator moved this thread. I never visit the NFL Draft Central and therefore, would not have thought about it. I just figured it was current since the Senior Bowl is Saturday, 28 January 2006.

I dont know about you guys, but I am really starting to think that we should do whatever it takes to draft Manny Lawson from NC State. According to nfldraftcountdown.com he has been dominant at the senior bowl against top tackles such as Marcus Mcneil and Jonathan Scott. After each practice he is swarmed by scouts, and if he adds a little weight to his 6'6 frame then I think he could be better than his teammate Mario Williams. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/de/mannylawson.html

6'6" 250 40 = 4.59 verticle jump-Higher than the device used to measure the stat!

I orginally thought we should draft a guard or dt with our 2nd round pick but the more i hear from the Senior bowl the more I want Lawson. I would almost be willing to trade up into the early 2nd to get him if he is still there. But if he isnt there, this is how my big board looks for the players that could possibley fall to us in the late 2nd:

1. Manny!
2. Davin Joseph, OG Oklahoma
3. Gabe Watson, DT Michigan
4. Charles Spencer, OG Pitt
5. Kamerion Wimbley, DE Florida State
6. Mercedes Lewis, TE UCLA
7. Greg Blue, SS Georgia (it would be scarey with him and ST in the secondary)
8. Thomas Howard, OLB UTEP
9. Ernie Sims OLB, Florida State
10. Kevin Boothe, OG Cornell

*I didnt put any WR up there because I think we should get one via Free agency. WR are to much "hit or miss" when it comes to the draft. But i would like to get Sinorice if he is there in the 3rd or so. From what I hear he is looking a lot like his big bro at the Senior Bowl....blowing by everyone!

I agree. He would be a great nickle corner. A lot of people thought he would be rusty at db seeing as how he was a wr last year. but from what i hear he hasn't missed a step playing db. but if we can't get him, I wouldnt mind picking up a relatively unknown db in the later rounds that has a good combination of size and speed.

I agree that Greg Blue is a monster at safety. Also the two CBs from Georgia, Minter and Jennings or impact players.

Daryll Tapp looks very quick to me.

In terms of WRs I don't see any harm in drafting one or two in the later rounds. Because they are so hit and miss, you can find some help late. Think Gary Clarke from JMU by way of the USFL. If they don't work out, no big deal.

Will Blackmon would be a good pickup.
Greg Blue with Sean Taylor would be very scary.
....and he isn't in the game but, Stanley McClover would be a great pick up.
I have heard alot of big time O-Lineman say that he was the toughest DE they faced all year. The man has great speed and room to grow.
